While there weren\u2019t any national records to follow up on Ikee\u2019s new mark in the 50 butterfly from yesterday, there was still plenty of fast swimming. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Day Two Finals<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women\u2019s 200 Free<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Men\u2019s 200 Free<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women\u2019s 50 Breast<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Men\u2019s 50 Breast<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women\u2019s 100 Back<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Men\u2019s 100 Back<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women\u2019s 400 IM<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Men\u2019s 1500 Free<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the women\u2019s 200 free, national record holder <\/span><b>Rikako Ikee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was a little ways off that in this final but still managed to hold on for gold in a very tight field. All three women on the podium finished in 1:57\u2019s, with second place Chihiro Igarashi (1:57.48) and third place Rio Shirai (1:57.68) just behind Ikee. Notably, fourth place <\/span><b>Tomomi Aoki <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also finished just under 1:58 (1:57.85), giving Japan a nice group for their 800 free relay.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The men\u2019s 200 free was a showdown between <\/span><b>Katsuhiro Matsumoto <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and 400 IM Olympic Champion <\/span><b>Kosuke Hagino<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Hagino didn\u2019t swim this event at last month\u2019s Japan Swim, and he was edged out here by Matsumoto 1:47.62 to 1:48.02. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the women\u2019s 400 IM <\/span><b>Yui Ohashi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who owns the fastest time in the world this year with her 4:30.82 from last month\u2019s Japan Swim, won again here tonight, taking the event in 4:35.03 over <\/span><b>Miho Takahashi <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Sakiko Shimizu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who had a close battle for silver and bronze (4:38.57 to 4:38.58). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With <\/span><b>Junya Koga <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2009-world-champion-junya-konga-fails-doping-test-out-of-2018-asian-games\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">out because of his recent doping violation<\/a> and no <\/span><b>Ryosuke Irie <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the field, the men\u2019s 100 back was wide open. <\/span><b>Junya Hasegawa <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ended up with the win in 54.44, just .04 ahead of <\/span><b>Masato Sakai<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In third was visiting Australian <\/span><b>Peter Mills<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In the women\u2019s event <\/span><b>Emi Moronuki <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was the only one in the field under a 1:00, winning in 59.77. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other event winners included <\/span><b>Reona Aoki <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the women\u2019s 50 breast (31.41), visiting Chinese swimmer <\/span><b>Yan Zibei <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the 50 breast (27.38), and <\/span><b>Syogo Takeda <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the men\u2019s 1500 free (15:06.27).
