After shattering the World Record<\/a> in the 1500 and the U.S. Open mark in the 400<\/a> freestyle, Katie Ledecky<\/strong><\/a> will be back in the water on the final night of the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series Indianapolis in the 800 distance. She owns the top seed in the event as does Club Wolverine’s Felix Auboeck<\/strong><\/a> who will be heavily challenged by Mission Viejo’s Zane Grothe<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

After posting the top time in this morning’s prelims, Katie Drabot<\/strong><\/a> will not be competing the 200 butterfly in tonight’s finals. Veteran Hali Flickinger<\/strong><\/a> will look to secure the win in this event. Other top seeds include Chase Kalisz<\/strong><\/a> in the 200 fly, Indiana duo Lilly King<\/strong><\/a> and Cody Miller<\/strong><\/a> in the 100 breaststroke, Ali Deloof<\/strong><\/a> and Jacob Pebley<\/strong><\/a> in the 100 backstroke and Melanie Margalis<\/strong><\/a> and Daniel Sos<\/strong><\/a> in the 200 IM.<\/p>\n

Men’s 100 Backstroke<\/h3>\n

\"Screen<\/p>\n

Veteran Matt Grevers<\/strong> did not waste any time going after the 100 Backstroke title in Indy. His 25.83 first fifty set him up way ahead of the field headed into the final lap. Despite being out-split by Cal’s Jacob Pebley in the back half (27.95-27.61), Grevers had enough in the tank to get his hand on the wall first in 53.78. The swim was just off his 53.73 from Austin which holds the tenth world ranking this year. Pebley was also just .05 off his Atlanta mark.<\/p>\n

Grigory Tarasevich<\/strong> was second at the halfway point in 26.37 but settled for third in 54.42. He had a dominant third-place finish over Nicolas Albiero<\/strong> (55.99). Alex Boratto<\/strong> (56.44), Drew Kibler<\/strong> (56.72), Wilson Beckman<\/strong> (57.39) and Ali Khalafalla<\/strong> (58.30) rounded out the heat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
