He pulled ahead from the start and pulled in with a time of 4:10.55. That&#8217;s slower than Kalisz&#8217;s top-ranked time in the world this year (4:08.92) but quicker than the No. 2-ranked swimmer, Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kosuke Hagino<\/strong> (4:10.69).<\/p>\n<p>Dynamo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jay Litherland<\/strong>, who trains with Kalisz at Georgia and has been a finalist in the event at both the 2016 Olympics and 2017 World Championships, took second in 4:17.09. Third went to Louisville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daniel Sos\u00a0<\/strong>in 4:18.12.<\/p>\n<p>Cal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sean Grieshop\u00a0<\/strong>took fourth in 4:21.05, and Dynamo&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gunnar Bentz<\/strong> was fifth in 4:21.34 after taking the win in the 100 fly Thursday night.
