The\u00a0Indianapolis stop of the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series marked the beginning of Georgia’s Gunnar Bentz’s<\/strong> professional swimming career. Bentz kickstarted the meet with a win in the men’s 100 fly, finishing a shy .05 seconds ahead of\u00a0Tom Shields<\/strong> with a 53.03.<\/p>\n

Bentz discussed how the transition from training as a college athlete to a professional athlete has been an easy one complete with Georgia Bulldogs past and present. He explained, “All of us either go to Georgia or have gone to Georgia, so we’re right there with them every day.”<\/p>\n

He also discussed how he’s trying to nail down his events ahead of this summer’s Phillip 66 National Championships and how swimming the 100 fly helps him nail down his speed in the front half of his 200 fly.<\/p>\n
