That swim was the highlight of night two at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n<p>Several of Ledecky&#8217;s fellow U.S. Olympians also picked up wins, including\u00a0<strong>Kelsi Dahlia<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Gunnar Bentz<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Melanie Margalis<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Simone Manuel\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Nathan Adrian<\/strong>. Meanwhile, 18-year-old\u00a0<strong>Daniel Roy\u00a0<\/strong>posted a scorcher of his own with a National Age Group record in the men&#8217;s 200 breast.<\/p>\n<p>Read below for an event-by-event recap of the session.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2018-tyr-pro-swim-series-indianapolis-day-two-finals-day-2-usa-senior-national-2018-05-16.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Full results<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Women&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Kelsi Dahlia\u00a0<\/strong>led from start to finish in the women&#8217;s 100 fly at the TYR Pro Swim Series meet in Indianapolis. She won the first event of the evening in 57.38, the No. 6 time in the world for 2018 and more than a second ahead of the runner-up, which happened to be Dahlia&#8217;s Louisville teammate\u00a0<strong>Mallory\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Comerford<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Comerford placed second in the event in 58.51, and Team Elite&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hellen Moffitt\u00a0<\/strong>took third in 58.94. Just behind was HPC-Ontario&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rebecca Smith<\/strong> in 59.01, and Stanford&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katie Drabot\u00a0<\/strong>took fifth in 59.30. The only question: Would Ledecky challenge her own world record?<\/p>\n<p>Briefly, the answer was yes &#8212; Ledecky was barely under WR pace after 50 meters &#8212; but she\u00a0ended up falling just off the pace. Still, she recorded a time of 3:57.94, the second-fastest performance in history behind her world record of 3:56.46 set on her way to gold at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Previously, Ledecky&#8217;s second-fastest mark had been a 3:58.34 from last year&#8217;s World Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Ledecky broke her own U.S. Open record of 3:58.44 set in the same Indianapolis pool at last year&#8217;s Nationals. Ledecky now owns the top ten times in history in the event. Ironically, this swim was the first time she had ever recorded a 3:57, having skipped from 3:58 to 3:56 two years ago in Rio.<\/p>\n<p>Smith took second in 4:06.67, moving her to No. 9 in the world rankings, and\u00a0<strong>Katie Drabot<\/strong>, a teammate of Ledecky&#8217;s at Stanford, finished third in 4:08.29. Grothe, who previously won the 1500 free, finished in 3:48.79, and El Kamash took second in 3:48.92.<\/p>\n<p>Club Wolverine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Felix Aubock<\/strong> took third in 3:50.53 after leading for much of the race. King ended up third in 2:24.95, just three tenths behind the winner. That demolished his own National Age Group record of 2:10.77 set last year at the World Junior Championships. Roy became the first 18-and-under American man to ever break 2:10.<\/p>\n<p>Kalisz also broke 2:10 for the first time, finishing second in 2:09.90.
