Tesoro finished second with 222. The Northwood boys also walked away with a title after a successful afternoon where they scored 282 points to Loyola&#8217;s 238 points.<\/p>\n<h2>Girls<\/h2>\n<p>Santa Margarita was out ahead from the get-go.\u00a0<strong>Ella Ristic<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Isabelle Odgers<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mia Ristic<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Marriott Hoffmann\u00a0<\/strong>combined for a winning 1:42.62 in the 200 medley relay.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/cif-champion-samantha-shelton-gives-verbal-commitment-to-harvard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Harvard bound\u00a0<\/a><strong>Samantha Shelton\u00a0<\/strong>of Santa Margarita led the way into the individual events, finishing in 1:44.05 in the 200 freestyle. Her teammates\u00a0<strong>Ella Ristic\u00a0<\/strong>(1:45.93) and\u00a0<strong>Mackenzie Degn\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.49) were third and fourth. Newport Harbor&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ayla Spitz\u00a0<\/strong>placed second in 1:45.56.<\/p>\n<p>Odgers (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/usc-gets-verbal-commits-from-breaststrokers-lara-bate-and-isabelle-odgers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">who will head to USC in the fall<\/a>) cracked two minutes to win the 200 IM in 1:59.99. Santa Margarita&#8217;s winning streak continued into the 50 freestyle where\u00a0<strong>Anicka Delgado\u00a0<\/strong>won in 22.71 and her teammate Hofmann was third (23.50). Tesoro&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Malia Mills\u00a0<\/strong>earned silver (23.48). Delgado also won the very next event, the 100 fly, in 53.25, just ahead of Fountain Valley&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hannah Farrow\u00a0<\/strong>(53.80).<\/p>\n<p>Ella Ristic cracked 50 (49.61) for 100 freestyle gold. Somebody other than Santa Margarita finally got a win in the 500 freestyle. Spitz got her hand to the wall first in 4:45.91 ahead of Mater Dei&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stephanie Su\u00a0<\/strong>in 4:49.42.<\/p>\n<p>Delgado, Hoffmann, Degn, and Shelton put Santa Margarita back on top in the 200 freestyle relay, touching in 1:31.47 and setting a new Division 1 meet record.<\/p>\n<p>Ventura sophomore\u00a0<strong>Tea Laughlin\u00a0<\/strong>blasted a 52.77 to win the 100 backstroke by over two seconds. Odgers posted a 1:01.90 to win the 100 breaststroke. Delgado, Degn, Ella Ristic, and Shelton finished the 400 freestyle relay in first, touching in 3:18.63, just shy of their own Division record set last year.<\/p>\n<h2>Boys<\/h2>\n<p>Northwood&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gabe Munoz<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Henry Wu<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>HwaMin Sim<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Collin Press\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 medley relay in 1:31.69, a half second ahead of Tesoro in second place. Northwood carried the winning ways into the individual events where senior\u00a0<strong>Shawn Lou\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 freestyle in 1:37.24, with Crespi sophomore\u00a0<strong>Zach Van Zandt\u00a0<\/strong>(1:37.80) on his tail. Van Zandt came down in distance to win the 100 freestyle with a 44.92.<\/p>\n<p>Van Zandt&#8217;s tammate\u00a0<strong>Hayden Liu\u00a0<\/strong>topped the 200 IM in 1:48.51. Also joining him under 1:50 were Tesoro&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jonathan Cheng\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.75) and Northwood&#8217;s\u00a0Munoz (1:49.86).<\/p>\n<p>The top six in the 50 freestyle were all under 21.00 (and two tied for seventh in 21.00). Leading the way was Aliso Niguel&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sean Slusiewicz\u00a0<\/strong>in 20.44, just a tenth faster than\u00a0<strong>Brandon Toland\u00a0<\/strong>(20.54) of Los Alamitos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Connor Lee\u00a0<\/strong>of Loyola won the 100 butterfly with a 47.82. His teammate\u00a0<strong>Mark McCray\u00a0<\/strong>won the 100 backstroke (48.94) ahead of Liu (49.42).<\/p>\n<p>Tesoro senior\u00a0<strong>Michael Brinegar\u00a0<\/strong>won the 500 freestyle in 4:21.29 while Dana Hills&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Owen Kao\u00a0<\/strong>(4:28.66) also cleared 4:30 for second place.<\/p>\n<p>Van Zandt, Liu,\u00a0<strong>Jack Chen<\/strong>,\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Sergey Ternov\u00a0<\/strong>combined to win the 200 freestyle relay (1:22.99) for Crespi.<\/p>\n<p>Northwood&#8217;s Wu clocked a 55.00 for the 100 breaststroke title.
