California high school state sectional action continued on Friday, with the Southern Section Division 4 meet racing finals. The top team was the same on both the girls and the boys side.<\/p>\n
The Rowland girls scored 316 points for victory while Downey finished the meet with 267 points, with both teams separating themselves from the field.<\/p>\n
Rowland’s\u00a0Megan Geer<\/strong>,\u00a0Kelly Prawira<\/strong>,\u00a0Azurine Chang<\/strong>, and\u00a0Erika Lim\u00a0<\/strong>teamed up to take the 200 medley relay in 1:53.72, just a tenth ahead of Downey’s\u00a0Maritza Ochoa<\/strong>,\u00a0Nektaria Anagnostou<\/strong>,\u00a0Alejandra Villa<\/strong>, and\u00a0Marie Olmedo<\/strong>\u00a0in 1:53.85.<\/p>\n Anagnostou won the 200 freestyle (1:58.61). She was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.15) behind Prawira (1:06.53). Rowland also won the 200 IM with Chang’s 2:12.59 and the 50 free with junior\u00a0Katelyn Nguyen<\/strong>‘s 23.72.\u00a0Nguyen also swam a 51.57 to win the 100 freestyle.<\/p>\n Chang, Lim,\u00a0Rachel Song<\/strong>, and Nguyen posted a 1:41.97 for a dominant 200 freestyle relay victory for Rowland. Song, Geer, Prawira, and Nguyen edged Downey 3:43.59 to 3:44.98 for the 400 freestyle relay title.<\/p>\n
