The final day of action from the 2018 USA Swimming Open Water National Championships continued from Tempe Town Lake in Tempe, Arizona, where the Junior National 7.5K took place on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
The races were pushed earlier in the day in anticipation of high temperatures in the afternoon.<\/p>\n
Ivan Puskovitch<\/strong> of Pennsylvania won the junior national title in the 7.5K event, finishing in 1:31.33.482.<\/p>\n Ethan Heasley<\/strong> of Hillsboro (1:31.43.283) finished second, followed by Noah Brune<\/strong> of Mission Viejo (1:31.56.143).<\/p>\n Puskovitch qualified for world juniors two years ago and was looking to repeat that opportunity. Rounding out the top eight were Mason Nyboer<\/strong> of Tiger Aquatics (1:32.02.334), Sawyer Grimes<\/strong> of Sandpipers of Nevada (1:32.11.064), Joseph Tepper<\/strong> of Egg Harbor (1:32.16.775), Luke Thornbrue<\/strong> of Hillsboro (1:32.26.135) and Caleb Gould<\/strong> of Sandpipers (1:32.29.963).<\/p>\n Chase Travis<\/strong>, 15, won the women\u2019s 7.5K race.
