But it was the Longhorns who held on to capture their fourth straight team title in what turned out to be the closest finish in 16 years.<\/p>\n<p>The meet featured seven lead changes with three different teams leading on the final day\u2014and all three of those teams still had a mathematical shot for the team crown heading into the final relay!<\/p>\n<p>The Longhorns scored 449 points, holding off Cal and Indiana. The Golden Bears finished second with 437.5 points, while Indiana took third with 422, leading after Days 2 and 3 and still in first with six events to go. NC State surged to fourth place with 385 after winning the final relay\u2014scoring 112.5 points more than last year,\u00a0but still finishing in the same spot.<\/p>\n<p>What did this victory for Texas mean to the seniors who had secured an NCAA title each of their four years?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt means the world to me,\u201d <strong>Jonathan Roberts<\/strong> said. \u201cIt is definitely the sweetest one, just because it is my senior year and it was the closest one, most competitive. I was fortunate enough to be a leader on this team.
