KNOXVILLE, Tennessee, June 5. ASHLEY Jahn of Idaho will be named the newest assistant coach of the newly-merged Tennessee swimming and diving team as head coach Matt Kredich continues to rebuild a coaching staff that has undergone much upheaval since first being merged earlier this year.<\/p>\n
Jahn has Big Orange in her blood as a former graduate assistant with the Lady Volunteers. She worked with UT from 2008-10 en route to a Master's degree in sport management on Rocky Top. On top of serving with the collegiate team, she served as an age group coach with Pilot Aquatic Club, and was the head coach of the Tennessee Masters team from 2009-10. She has recent stops in Idaho and UNLV.<\/p>\n
Jahn competed at Air Force for three years on the swim team, and four years on its water polo squad, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in social sciences in 2003. She went on to work with the U.S. Air Force as a Medical Service Corps Office for five years before enrolling at Tennessee.<\/p>\n
There has been plenty of movement on the Tennessee staff since the merger motivated by John Trembley's mid-season termination. Lars Jorgensen, who filled in as the interim head men's coach prior to the merger, elected to resign during the offseason. Meanwhile, top women's assistant coach Jen Woodruff recently resigned after completing her maternity leave to focus on her new family. She married Tennessee's men's tennis associate head coach Chris Woodruff in the summer of 2010, and has up until this summer served as Kredich's most trusted ally.<\/p>\n
Thus far, Kredich has officially filled two positions on the staff with Jahn and Army's Bret Lundgaard being added to the staff this offseason. He also has the always steady Dave Parrington ensconced as the head diving coach, a position he has served in for more than two decades.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
