Africa is the home of so very many successful Olympic athletes. It is also the continent of youth. This is why we want to take the Youth Olympic Games 2022 to Africa. This is why the IOC will proactively approach a number of African NOCs to evaluate the feasibility of bringing the YOG to Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coventry joins a board of six other IOC members, including\u00a0<strong>Beatrice Allen\u00a0<\/strong>(Gambia),\u00a0<strong>Neven Ilic\u00a0<\/strong>(Chile),\u00a0<strong>Gunilla Lindberg\u00a0<\/strong>(Sweden),\u00a0<strong>Li Lingwei\u00a0<\/strong>(China),\u00a0<strong>Lydia Nsekera\u00a0<\/strong>(Burundi) and\u00a0<strong>Auvita Rapilla\u00a0<\/strong>(Papua New Guinea).<\/p>\n<p>Turkey&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ugur Erdener\u00a0<\/strong>was appointed as Chair by Bach.
