We offer several camp options, from day to overnight experiences. Our highly experienced camp <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carolinaswimcamp.com\/coaching-staff.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">coaches and staff<\/a> love interacting with developing swimmers at these camps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day camps<\/strong> are designed to focus solely on starts, turns, relay exchanges, and underwater work.\u00a0 We video and focus on the details that often get glossed over.\u00a0 This is dedicated time to breakdown and review the skills that make your swims faster.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Technical and Training Camps<\/strong> focus on training swimmers&#8217; energy systems for success in summer swimming as well as developing and enhancing the training and racing skills of competitive swimmers.\u00a0 This is a combined technique and training camp that will have three main training groups: one for distance oriented swimmers, one for middle distance stroke\/IM swimmers and one for sprinters.\u00a0 Each group will train the needs for the distance of events in that group.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overnight campers<\/strong> are housed in UNC close to Koury Natatorium, in Hinton James Dorn. The dorm is arranged in suites. Each suites is comprised of\u00a0 four rooms with two beds each and all four rooms sharing a bathroom. Each room houses two campers and each suite houses 8 campers.\u00a0 Male and female campers are housed on separate floors withing the dorm with a counselor of the same gender on that floor. Our dorms are locked 24\/7 with staffed security and our coaches and counselors are supervising the campers 24\/7.<\/p>\n<p>Campers are more than welcome to request a specific roommate. Please indicate the camper that your athlete would like to room with in the notes section of your registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transportation: <\/strong>Transportation from and to the RDU airport is provided for a fee of $40.00 round trip and $20.00 one way.\u00a0 Parents will need to provide Duncan Sherrard (<a href=\"mailto:duncanms@email.unc.edu\">duncanms@email.unc.edu<\/a>) with the camper\u2019s flight itinerary approximately two (2) weeks prior to the campers arrival.\u00a0 Christy will provide the parents with the contact info and a picture of the staff member who will be providing the transport.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parking, Dropping Off, and Picking Up: <\/strong>Parking is extremely limited on campus.\u00a0 On registration days, when checking in for camp, you may park in the lot directly across the street from Koury Natatorium.\u00a0 When checking into the dorm, parking is available at Hinton James Dorm.\u00a0 Additional parking is available at Craig Deck just off of Manning Drive.<\/p>\n<p>During the week, commuter camper parents are asked to park in the lot across from Koury Natatorium and walk their child into the pool.\u00a0 At the end of the day, we will have staff members waiting with the campers in the pool until parents arrive.<\/p>\n<p>Parking on the Camp Check Out days (at the conclusion of camp) will be available at the Ram\u2019s Parking Deck next to the Football Stadium.\u00a0 This lot is approximately \u00bd mile from Koury Natatorium.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Camp Merchandise: <\/strong>Carolina Swim Camp and UNC Swim Gear is available both online and at our camp store at Koury Natatorium during our weeks of camp.\u00a0 Please note that items for sale online will be available at our camp store during the first and last day of camp. Every year, DeSelm is leading his alma mater to new heights in the swimming pool and the classroom.
