Le Clos was able to post a meet record in the 100 fly while Campbell got past her sibling, <strong>Cate Campbell<\/strong>, to earn her Games&#8217; record in the 100 free.<\/p>\n<p>Our men&#8217;s 50 free final is set up for speed after England&#8217;s <strong>Ben Proud<\/strong> posted a new meet record in the event, with South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Brad Tandy<\/strong> right behind.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the world&#8217;s quickest swimmers are in action on the Gold Coast as we approach the end of the championships.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s events included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 200 Back<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 800 Free<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s S7 50 Free<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s SB9 100 Breast<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 50 Free Semi-Final<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 50 Back<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 50 Breast<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 200 Fly<\/li>\n<li>Women&#8217;s 100 Free<\/li>\n<li>Men&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2018-commonwealth-games-day-five-finals-results-day-5\/international-elite\/2018\/April\/5?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FULL RESULTS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Check below for event-by-event coverage.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Back<\/h3>\n<p>Australian backstroke veteran <strong>Mitch Larkin<\/strong> produced a 1:56.10 in the 200 backstroke final to earn himself the victory. Australian <strong>Cameron McEvoy<\/strong> touched second in the heat with his 22.00 while Canada&#8217;s <strong>Yuri Kisil<\/strong> tied for third in the heat with England&#8217;s <strong>Thomas Fannon<\/strong> in a time of 22.09.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Back Semi-Final<\/h3>\n<p>Winning the first semi-final was Welsh swimmer <strong>Georgia Davis<\/strong> with her 27.86 while Australia&#8217;s <strong>Holly Barratt<\/strong> touched second in 28.12. Scotland&#8217;s <strong>Kathleen Dawson<\/strong> touched third in the heat with a 28.26.<\/p>\n<p>The second semi-final heat saw Australian veteran <strong>Emily Seebohm<\/strong> touch first in a 27.89, putting her second going into the finals. (52.27) and <strong>Cate Campbell<\/strong> (52.69) earned gold and silver, respectively with the gold medalist earned herself a new Commonwealth Games record.<\/p>\n<p>Earning a bronze medal for Canada was <strong>Taylor Ruck<\/strong> who swam a time of 53.08.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the final in eighth was England&#8217;s <strong>Anna Hopkin<\/strong> who touched in 55.03.<\/p>\n<p><img
