﻿{"id":304100,"date":"2018-04-05T12:17:19","date_gmt":"2018-04-05T19:17:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=304100"},"modified":"2018-04-05T14:00:27","modified_gmt":"2018-04-05T21:00:27","slug":"caeleb-dressel-sydney-pickrem-win-sec-swimmer-of-the-year-honors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/caeleb-dressel-sydney-pickrem-win-sec-swimmer-of-the-year-honors\/","title":{"rendered":"Caeleb Dressel, Sydney Pickrem Win SEC Swimmer of the Year Honors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Southeastern Conference announced its annual men\u2019s and women\u2019s swimming &amp; diving awards to cap the 2017-18 season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> of Florida was named the Male Swimmer of the Year for the third consecutive year, and <strong>Hugo Gonzalez<\/strong> was tabbed the Male Freshman Swimmer of the Year. <strong>Colin Zeng<\/strong> of Tennessee was chosen as the Male Diver of the Year, while <strong>Chase Lan<\/strong>e of Kentucky earned the Male Freshman Diver of the Year award. <strong>Gregg Troy<\/strong> of Florida was selected as the Men\u2019s Swimming Coach of the Year, and <strong>Dave Parrington<\/strong> of Tennessee was named the Men\u2019s Diving Coach of the Year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sydney Pickrem<\/strong> claimed the Female Swimmer of the Year award, and <strong>Bailey Bonnett<\/strong> of Kentucky was named the Female Freshman Swimmer of the Year. <strong>Brooke Schultz<\/strong> of Arkansas was voted the Female Diver and Female Freshman Diver of the Year. <strong>Steve Bultman<\/strong> of Texas A&amp;M was chosen as the Women\u2019s Swimming Coach of the Year, while <strong>Dale Schultz<\/strong> of Arkansas was tabbed the Women\u2019s Diving Coach of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>For the All-SEC Teams, the First Team consists of the top finisher in each event at the SEC Championships, and the Second Team consists of the second- and third-place finishers in each event. The All-Freshman Teams consist of any redshirt or true freshman who finished either in the top eight or is the highest scoring freshman of each event at the SEC Championships, excluding relay
