Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mack Horton<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Ariarne Titmus\u00a0<\/strong>will have lane four in their respective finals in front of the home crowd fans. Fellow Aussie\u00a0<strong>Emma McKeon\u00a0<\/strong>will also have a chance to defend her 200 free title and Scotland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ross Murdoch\u00a0<\/strong>will have a chance to defend his 200 breast title.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/results.gc2018.com\/en\/swimming\/daily-schedule.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Schedule &amp; Results<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/7commgames.com.au\/live\/19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Live Stream (?)<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p>Two-time defending champion\u00a0<strong>Hannah Miley\u00a0<\/strong>of Scotland cruised to the top seed at 4:38.20 in the 400 IM on Thursday morning in Australia. Miley is ahead of England&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Aimee Willmott\u00a0<\/strong>(4:39.19) as the two were first and second four years ago in Glasgow. Horton showed he has a lot left as he cruised in to a 3:47.93 ahead of Wales&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Daniel Jervis\u00a0<\/strong>(3:48.18). Australia has not had a gold medalist in this event at the Commonwealth Games since\u00a0<strong>Ian Thorpe\u00a0<\/strong>broke the World Record in 2002.<\/p>\n<p>Australia has three total finalists tonight with\u00a0<strong>Jack McLoughlin\u00a0<\/strong>(3:48.31) and\u00a0<strong>David McKeon\u00a0<\/strong>(3:48.86) placing third and fourth as the Aussies could see plenty of flags during the medal ceremony tonight.<\/p>\n<p>England&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>James Guy\u00a0<\/strong>(3:50.23) placed fifth with a slipping cap as he fell off pace. The Aussies have been swimming well so far in the pool in the Gold Coast as\u00a0<strong>Ariarne Titmus\u00a0<\/strong>(1:57.02) and\u00a0<strong>Emma McKeon\u00a0<\/strong>(1:57.40) both advanced to the 200 free final. Australia also picked up a third finalist with\u00a0<strong>Leah Neale\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.91).<\/p>\n<p>McKeon is the defending champion in the 200 free as she has a big program of racing ahead of her.<\/p>\n<p>They will have a duel with the Canadian teenage duo of\u00a0<strong>Taylor Ruck\u00a0<\/strong>(1:57.44) and\u00a0<strong>Penny Olekisak\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.21).<\/p>\n<p>England also qualified two finalists with\u00a0<strong>Eleanor Faulkner\u00a0<\/strong>(1:57.87) and\u00a0<strong>Holly Hibbott\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.10). Proud was the defending champion from 2014 in the event and leaves the race wide open as the reigning World Champion is out.<\/p>\n<p>That leaves South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Chad Le Clos<\/strong> (23.53) as the top seed ahead of Trinidad and Tobago&#8217;s <strong>Dylan Carter<\/strong> (23.62) as the race again will be wide open. Vasey is just ahead of two-time defending champion <strong>Leiston Pickett<\/strong> of Australia who posted a 30.87 in second.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Tatjana Schoenmaker<\/strong> is third seed at 30.92. She was just off the African Record of 30.83 by fellow South African <strong>Penny Heyns<\/strong> from the 1999 Pan Pacs. Larkin was actually second in the 100 back in 2014 at the meet in Glasgow and England&#8217;s <strong>Chris Walker-Hebborn<\/strong> won the event in Scotland four years ago. Murdoch won the 200 breast in his home country four years ago with a Games Record of 2:07.30 and has a chance to defend that title in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Can the home country repeat though as Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matt Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>is the second seed with a comfortable 2:09.74. Both Murdoch and Wilson finaled in Budapest last year in the 200 breast.<\/p>\n<p>The British have a big influence on the top eight as England&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>James Wilby\u00a0<\/strong>(2:10.07) and\u00a0<strong>Andrew Willis\u00a0<\/strong>(2:10.52) will swim in the final along with Scotland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Calum Tait\u00a0<\/strong>(2:10.83) and\u00a0<strong>Craig
