THE University of Texas has decided to part ways with head women&#039;s swimming coach Kim Brackin, according to local media outlets that cover Texas athletics. <i>Swimming World<\/i> has also confirmed this information with a source close to the situation.  Additionally, Texas has already removed Brackin from the team roster on its official website.<\/p>\n<p>Brackin led Texas to top 10 finishes in four out of her six seasons as the head coach since she took over the reins May 2006, but never was able to move into title contention after annual top-ranked recruiting classes.   In her final year, she produced 20 All-American honors, including seven honorable mention accolades. <\/p>\n<p>Prior to Texas, Brackin coached at Auburn University from 1997-2005 and was a part of seven NCAA championships while working with both the men&#039;s and women&#039;s teams. <\/p>\n<p>Texas will immediately begin searching for a new coach.  <\/p>\n<p>Texas later confirmed the personnel decision with a short official statement:<\/p>\n<p><i>The University of Texas Women&#039;s Athletics Department today announced a leadership change in its women&#039;s swimming program. Effective immediately, Kim Brackin is no longer head coach. Matt Scoggin continues as men&#039;s and women&#039;s diving coach. Women&#039;s associate head coach Jim Henry continues his annual appointment until a new head coach is in place and future staff is determined.
