Smith, representing Riptide, swam her signature event in a blistering time of 1:48.30. With that mark, Smith smashed the 15-16 National Age Group record of 1:50.66 set by\u00a0<strong>Kylie Stewart\u00a0<\/strong>in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>That time was exactly one second off\u00a0<strong>Kathleen Baker&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>American record of 1:47.30 set five days earlier at the NCAA championships in Columbus, Ohio. Only Baker,\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Pelton\u00a0<\/strong>(1:47.84) and\u00a0<strong>Missy Franklin\u00a0<\/strong>(1:47.91) have ever been quicker. Her previous best time entering the day had been 1:51.30, and she posted a 1:50.01 in prelims, giving her a combined drop of exactly four seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Finishing behind Smith was Michigan Lakeshore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kathryn Ackerman\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:56.36. Third went to Southeastern&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Abigail Harter <\/strong>(1:59.43).<\/p>\n<p>On the men&#8217;s side in the 200 back, Michigan Lakeshore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ian Miskelley\u00a0<\/strong>won in 1:46.87, ahead of Performance Elite&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jack Fitzpatrick\u00a0<\/strong>(1:47.87). Firestone Akron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kaden Smekso\u00a0<\/strong>took third in 1:48.14.<\/p>\n<p>Drop&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ashley Turak\u00a0<\/strong>won the women&#8217;s 50 free in 22.55, well ahead of JCC Sailfish&#8217;s <strong>Olivia Livingston\u00a0<\/strong>(22.90)\u00a0and\u00a0Racer X&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zoe Skirboll<\/strong> (23.06). In the men&#8217;s 50, Michigan Lakeshore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Skylar Cook-Weeks\u00a0<\/strong>took first in 20.30, with teammate\u00a0<strong>Cameron Peel\u00a0<\/strong>second in 20.56. Third went to\u00a0<strong>Gregory Kalin <\/strong>in 20.63.<\/p>\n<p>Lake Erie Silver Dolphins&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Laura Goettler\u00a0<\/strong>won the women&#8217;s 200 breast in 2:11.62, well ahead of Ackerman (2:14.39) and Michigan Lakeshore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madeline Greaves\u00a0<\/strong>(2:15.66). In the men&#8217;s 200 breast, Performance Elite&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Joshua Matheny\u00a0<\/strong>took the win in 1:58.26, followed by West Ottawa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Derek Maas\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.10) and Firestone Akron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Richard Kurlich<\/strong> (2:01.58).<\/p>\n<p>Michigan Lakeshore&#8217;s team of\u00a0<strong>Caroline Sisson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Lillian Brandt<\/strong>, Ackerman and\u00a0<strong>Elle Giesler<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 4&#215;200 free relay in 7:23.08.
