Thirteen meet and three National Age Group Records fell on the second night of the 2018 ISCA Junior National Championship Cup. The meet runs from March 20-24 at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.<\/p>\n

Like they did on night one, the Mason Manta Ray men started off the session with a National Age Group Record in the 200 Medley Relay. The 15-16 quartet featured three of the same swimmers from the 15-18 record-breaking performance<\/a>, with Ian Van Gorp<\/strong> swapping in on the breaststroke leg for 17-year-old Jake Foster<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The previous record was held by the Bolles School Sharks team of Dakota Mahaffey<\/strong>, James Daugherty<\/strong>, Ariel Spektor<\/strong> and Tyler Rice<\/strong>. The team set their mark of 1:31.29 in 2014.<\/p>\n

A few races later, Michael Andrew<\/strong><\/a> lowered his NAG Record from the preliminaries<\/a> in the 100 breast. He went out even faster than his morning split of 23.43 to secure the mark. At night, he split 23.32-27.47 for an overall time of 50.79. He also set a new meet record in the preliminaries of the 200 IM with a 1:42.72. He did not compete in this event at finals.<\/p>\n

Additionally, ten other meet records fell on night two courtesy of four different clubs. The Virginia Gators led the way in this department, breaking five of their own.<\/p>\n

Emma Muzzy<\/strong><\/a> and Olivia Bray<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0each won a pair of races in meet record fashion. Muzzy was victorious in the Open 200 IM (1:57.41) and 100 Back (52.12) while Bray won the 15-16 100 Back (52.58) and 50 Fly (23.52). Teammate Khalil Fonder<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0also posted a quick 20.96 50 Fly in the Open division.<\/p>\n

The Mason Manta Rays claimed another three records throughout the night as well. While it was not a NAG, the team of McDonald, Chaney and the Foster brothers broke the meet mark in the 800 Free Relay in 6:33.70. Carson Foster anchored the event in 1:34.78, an event he will swim on day four of competition.<\/p>\n

Jake Foster was victorious on his own, setting a new mark in the 100 back in 46.68. Teammate Chaney later did likewise in the 15-16 50 fly (21.61).<\/p>\n

15-year-old Anthony Grimm<\/strong> of the Mason Makos and 16-year-old Sophia Zhang<\/strong><\/a> of Asphalt Green rounded out the record breakers in the 100 Back (47.55) and 100 Breast (1:01.49), respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
