IF you didn&#039;t purchase a ticket to watch our pay-per-view live stream of the finals of the 2012 Far Western championships yesterday, you missed out on some fast swimming &#8212; and six meet records broken &#8212; on the first day of competition.<\/p>\n<p>Three of the records were set in individual events, while three were set in relay action:<\/p>\n<p>Austin Nguyen, Pacific Swim: Boys 11-12 200 yard breaststroke &#8212; 2:17.87 (old record 2:18.32)<\/p>\n<p>Morganne McKennan, Quicksilver Swimming: Girls 13-14 200 yard breaststroke &#8212; 2:15.30 (old record 2:17.61)<\/p>\n<p>Audrey Lukawski, Koret Youth Swim Club: Girls 10 &#038; Under 100 yard breaststroke &#8212; 1:09.96 (old record 1:10.37)<\/p>\n<p>Crow Canyon Swim Club: Girls 13-14 400 medley relay &#8212; 3:52.76 (old record 3:56.37)<\/p>\n<p>Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics: Boys 13-14 400 medley relay &#8212; 3:39.41 (old record 3:40.90)<\/p>\n<p>Pacific Swim: Boys 11-12 400 medley relay &#8212; 4:03.53 (old record 4:05.23)<\/p>\n<p>Some of the best 18-and-under swimmers from the western United States (as well as a few from Texas), are at this meet, where some of the best swimmers in history got their start. Natalie Coughlin, Summer Sanders, Michael Phelps and Pablo Morales are just a few Olympians who previously competed here. We could be seeing a few future Olympians in this year&#039;s meet, and by purchasing a ticket to watch our pay-per-view stream, you could say, &#8220;I saw them swim back in the day!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The cost to watch all sessions is $15.95.
