At the Pac-12 championships last month,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katie-ledecky-takes-down-hosszus-ncaa-record-eastins-american-record-in-400-im\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ledecky broke Eastin\u2019s American record with a 3:56.53<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the fastest 400 IM in history up to that point. And with Ledecky forgoing the 200 free to swim the longer IM at NCAA\u2019s, all eyes were on the two Stanford swimmers to see who could get their hand on the wall first. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It ended up being Eastin\u2019s race to lose, with the junior leading from the 150 onward, building a monstrous 4 second lead over her teammate after the breaststroke leg. Finishing in 3:54.60 Eastin jumped over 3:55 entirely to become the fastest woman in history by nearly two seconds and throw down a swim for the ages. While there has been a lot of focus over Eastin\u2019s long course <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ella-eastin-bethany-galat-dqed-in-400-im-for-violation-of-lochte-rule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">400 IM DQ<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from last summer that kept her off the Worlds team, it is safe to say that <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/stunning-disbelief-ella-eastin-produces-epic-in-ncaa-400-im\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the junior has used that disappointment as motivation for some head turning swims.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eastin added two more individual titles in the 200 IM (which also happened to be <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ella-eastin-smashes-ncaa-american-record-in-200-im-kathleen-baker-also-under\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">an NCAA and American record of 1:50.67<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) and the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ella-eastin-katie-drabot-go-1-2-for-stanford-in-200-fly-final\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">200 fly (1:50.01)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as well as relay wins as part of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/stanford-becomes-third-womens-team-to-sweep-ncaa-relays-with-400-free-relay-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">400<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katie-ledecky-pulls-away-for-stanford-win-in-4x200-free-relay-to-open-ncaas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">800<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> free relays to end up as the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ella-eastin-named-cscaa-swimmer-of-the-meet\/\"
