ATLANTA, Georgia, March 28. THE 2012 East Coast Swim Club Championship is set to begin March 30, 2012, and will run through April 1. This is the ninth consecutive year that Georgia Tech Swim Club has hosted the East Coast Swim Club Championship at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center, home of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, 2006 NCAA Men's Championships, and the 2005, 2008, and 2011 ACC Championships.<\/p>\n
The East Coast Swim Club Championship has become one of the largest collegiate club swim meet in the United States, and is serving as the de facto National Championship for collegiate club teams. This year, the meet will feature 56 teams and 1,200 swimmers and divers from all over the country vying for the championship trophy.<\/p>\n
2011 Overall and Women's team champion Colorado-Boulder returns to defend its title, and will attempt to perform a clean sweep by taking the Men's team champion title away from the University of Rhode Island. University of Florida, Virginia Tech, James Madison, Penn State, and home team Georgia Tech will all be in fierce contention for the top three spots.<\/p>\n
The competition at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center combines the fastest non-NCAA collegiate swimmers with one of the fastest pools in the country, providing some of the best swimming action outside the NCAA. The meet begins on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 6:30PM. Saturday preliminary round starts at 11:00AM, Finals at 6:00PM. Sunday preliminary round starts at 9:00AM, with Finals starting two hours after the conclusion of prelim. The meet is free for spectators. <\/p>\n
