Stanford head coach\u00a0Greg Meehan\u00a0<\/strong>has seen great success so far during the Women’s NCAA Championships for his team. The Cardinal has gone four-for-four in relays and has won five of eight individual races, recording one-two finishes in two of those events.<\/p>\n

Meehan, who is in his sixth year at the helm of the program, notes that he is proud of how his team has raced for each other. He knew they had a very strong team on paper but wanted to create a different experience than last year, which he said started after the 4×200 free relay win on night one.<\/p>\n

He says that swimming fast is fun and that being able to watch their best friends do well\u00a0drives the team towards success. He says the training environment is unlike any other and that his swimmers make each other better.<\/p>\n

He highlights\u00a0Ella Eastin,\u00a0<\/strong>who has won both the 200 and 400 IM in NCAA and American Record times, citing her 200 IM as one of the best swims he has ever seen. He says that Ally Howe’s\u00a0<\/strong>first individual NCAA crown in the 100 back was the perfect senior moment.<\/p>\n

Heading into the final day of competition, Stanford leads with 414 points followed by Cal (268) and Texas A&M (186).<\/p>\n
