2018 NCAA Division 1 Finals \u2013 Women\u2019s 200 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n

The women\u2019s 200y IM on Day 2 of the 2018 NCAA D1 finals was set to be an exciting race, as the field was comprised of a faster heat than last year – a 1:55.59 guaranteed a spot in last year\u2019s final, but it took a 1:54.78 to qualify for the A-final this year.<\/p>\n

Reigning NCAA champion Kathleen Baker<\/strong> (Cal) was back to defend her title, going up against NCAA record holder Ella Eastin<\/strong> (Stanford) and top-seed Sydney Pickrem<\/strong> (Texas A&M). We saw a preview of what a race between Eastin and Baker would look like as they battled it out in their prelim heat, Eastin out touching Baker by half a second, landing her in 2nd<\/sup> seed. Also in the final are Wisconsin\u2019s Beata Nelson<\/strong>, Tennessee\u2019s Meghan Small<\/strong>, Texas A&M\u2019s Bethany Galat<\/strong>, Denver\u2019s Bailey Andison<\/strong>, and Kentucky\u2019s Asia Seidt<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
