GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands. March 15. PENNY Palfrey will return to the site of one of her greatest adventures – the Cayman Islands – this June. She will participate in one of the world's greatest open water swimming events, the Flowers Sea Swim.<\/p>\n
The last time Penny Palfrey<\/a> was in the Cayman Islands, she swam 68 miles between Little Cayman Island<\/a> and Grand Cayman Island<\/a>, a breathtaking experience that has prepared her well to take upon her next Caribbean Sea swim between Cuba and Florida.<\/p>\n Nestled in the calm, turquoise waters of the western Caribbean, Penny was supported in the Caribbean paradise by the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism<\/strong><\/a> and the Flowers Group<\/strong><\/a>, race organizers of the annual Flowers Sea Swim<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n From her base of Townsville in Queensland, Australia, Penny feels right at home in the turquoise blue waters of the Cayman Islands. Penny and 800 other swimmers ages 8-80 will take part in the 20th anniversary of the year of the Flowers Sea Swim<\/a>. Many enter to simply participate; some strive to win the US$25,000 prize to break the world's open water swimming mile record or the US$5,000 prize to break the course records including Codie Grimsey<\/a>. <\/p>\n While Codie<\/a> is making a name for himself, Penny<\/a> continues to do so:<\/p>\n 1.
