THE first evening of the NCAA Division I Women&#039;s Swimming and Diving Championships were delayed 15 minutes due to a pool measurement issue in Auburn, Ala.  The first evening will commence at 7:15 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>According to an anonymous source close to the situation, a measurement took place prior to prelims which had the pool setup correctly.  However, when California set a U.S. Open and NCAA record at the end of the first day of prelims, a measurement was taken again.  At that time, California&#039;s lane was found to be compliant, however some other lanes were said to have been out of proper measurement.<\/p>\n<p>Facility personnel worked feverishly during the break between the diving and final sessions to bring the bulkhead back into complete compliance. <\/p>\n<p>An official statement was requested by Swimming World.  Meet management explained that no official statement would be made on this issue. However, they confirmed that measurements prior to prelims were correct.
