The eighth and final session of the Atlanta stop on the 2018 TYR Pro Swim Series got underway this morning with only one event, the 1500 free.<\/p>\n

Longtime USA distance veteran Ashley Twichell<\/strong> broke Brooke Bennett’s old pool record set in 1995 of 16:15.58 with her time of 16:08.70 to win the event. Taking second behind Twichell was Chile’s Kristel Kobrich<\/strong> in a 16:11.09, also under the old pool record. Taking third was Sandpipers of Nevada’s Erica Sullivan<\/strong> in a time of 16:38.40. The Bolles Schools’ Kensey McMahon<\/strong> touched fourth in 16:42.91 with the Sandpiper’s\u00a0Kaitlynn Sims<\/strong> in fifth with a 16:42.98. In sixth and seventh, respectively was NCAP’s Chase Travis<\/strong> (16:48.04) and the Sandpiper’s Chloe Freeman<\/strong> (17:18.61). Rounding out the top eight was Marmo Nadadores swimmer Regina<\/strong> Caracas<\/strong> in 17:29.50.<\/p>\n

In fourth and fifth was the Sandpiper’s Brennen Gravley<\/strong> (15:36.31) and Marwan El Kamash<\/strong> (15:50.79). Penguin Aquatics’ Jared Graham<\/strong> swam a 16:04.51 for sixth with Sawyer<\/strong> Grimes<\/strong> right behind in 16:06.07. Taking eighth was Puerto Rico’s Christian Bayo<\/strong> swam a 16:11.45 to take eighth overall.<\/p>\n
