The sophomore stopped the clock in a time of 4:22.76 to finish nearly three seconds ahead of the rest of the field.<\/p>\n<p>Miami Ohio\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Gordon Wheeler <\/strong>finished second in 4:25.61 and Missouri State\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Minki Kang <\/strong>took third in 4:27.46.<\/p>\n<p>Southern Illinois\u2019\u00a0<strong>Michael Wolfe <\/strong>(4:28.01), Southern Illinois\u2019\u00a0<strong>Kevin Kluge <\/strong>(4:28.44), Miami Ohio\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Iago Moussalem do Amaral <\/strong>(4:28.84), Miami Ohio\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Austin Theobald <\/strong>(4:28.96) and Miami Ohio\u2019s\u00a0<strong>James McGuire <\/strong>(4:29.27) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Men\u2019s 200 IM<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Missouri State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Artur Osvath <\/strong>earned gold in the 200 IM, posting a time of 1:45.74. \u00a0The junior dropped over two seconds from his prelims swim to earn his second-straight MAC title in this event.<\/p>\n<p>His teammate\u00a0<strong>Kacper Cwiek\u00a0<\/strong>earned silver in 1:46.66 and Eastern Michigan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tosh Kawaguchi\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed bronze in 1:46.87.<\/p>\n<p>Missouri State\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Christopher Heye <\/strong>(1:46.91), Eastern Michigan\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Jake Tyson <\/strong>(1:47.35), Miami Ohio\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Kayky Mota <\/strong>(1:47.54), Missouri State\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Will Frisbie <\/strong>(1:47.64) and Miami Ohio\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Justin Andrews <\/strong>(1:47.71) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Men\u2019s 50 Free<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Missouri State\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Lucas Paloschi <\/strong>won his first-ever individual MAC title in the 50 free. The junior sprinted his way to a final time of 19.93 for the win.<\/p>\n<p>Eastern Michigan\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Carter Swift <\/strong>(19.98) also snuck under the 20-second barrier and Missouri State\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Samuel Senn <\/strong>was third with a time of 20.10.<\/p>\n<p>Eastern Michigan\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Chris O&#8217;Shea <\/strong>(20.28), Missouri State\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Jake Schultz <\/strong>(20.35), Miami Ohio\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Nick Ward <\/strong>(20.37), Southern Illinois\u2019\u00a0<strong>Tamas Hajtman <\/strong>(20.39) and Miami Ohio\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Hutch Blackstone <\/strong>(20.51) also competed in the A-final.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Men\u2019s 1-Meter Diving<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Eastern Michigan\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Al&#8217;x Pierre <\/strong>won the first diving event of the meet. The freshman dove to first with a final score of 352.95.<\/p>\n<p>Pierre\u2019s teammate<strong>\u00a0Peter Rusenas\u00a0<\/strong>dove to second with 342.55 points and Miami Ohio\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Harrison Moncino <\/strong>finished third with a score of 319.45.<\/p>\n<p>Eastern Michigan\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Noah Galluzzo <\/strong>(315.65), Eastern Michigan\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Thomas Gillis <\/strong>(309.80), Miami Ohio\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Sam Wiedemann <\/strong>(295.55), Miami Ohio\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Ryan Nash <\/strong>(289.00) and Southern Illinois&#8217; <strong>Kai Hoffmann-Dussome <\/strong>(244.80) also dove in the top heat.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Men\u2019s 4\u00d750 Free Relay<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Missouri State has won two relays thus far this championship meet, winning gold tonight in the 4\u00d750 free relay in record-setting fashion. The quartet of Paloschi (20.09),\u00a0Schultz (19.81),\u00a0<strong>Blair Bish <\/strong>(20.16) and Senn (19.47) finished in 1:19.53, eclipsing one of the oldest MAC records of 1:19.58 set back in 1997.<\/p>\n<p>Miami Ohio finished second in 1:20.43 and Eastern Michigan was third in 1:20.74.<\/p>\n<p>Day three prelims will begin at 10:30 a.m. EST.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Missouri State concluded day two of the 2018 Mid-American Men\u2019s Swimming and Diving Championships by breaking one of the oldest MAC records in the book.
