{"id":297892,"date":"2018-02-24T12:50:13","date_gmt":"2018-02-24T19:50:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=297892"},"modified":"2018-02-24T12:50:13","modified_gmt":"2018-02-24T19:50:13","slug":"baker-manuel-take-top-seeds-in-pac-12-womens-championship-day-4-prelims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/baker-manuel-take-top-seeds-in-pac-12-womens-championship-day-4-prelims\/","title":{"rendered":"Baker, Manuel Take Top Seeds in Pac-12 Women&#8217;s Championship Day 4 Prelims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Several fast races highlighted the final day of the Pac-12 Women\u2019s Championships prelims on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The 200 backstroke is shaping up to be an interesting race with seven of the eight spots from Cal and Stanford.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2018-pac-12-championships-day-4-prelims-day-4\/ncaa-college\/2018\/February\/24?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\">PRELIMS RESULTS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cal\u2019s Kathleen Baker took the top seed in Saturday\u2019s preliminaries and is followed by Stanford\u2019s <strong>Ally Howe<\/strong> (1:51.76), <strong>Janet Hu<\/strong> (1:51.85) and Cal\u2019s <strong>Amy Bilquist<\/strong> (1:52.33).<\/p>\n<p>Stanford\u2019s <strong>Erin Voss<\/strong> (1:52.72) and <strong>Allie Szekely<\/strong> (1:53.18) took the fifth and sixth seeds, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona\u2019s <strong>Cameron McHugh<\/strong> took the seventh spot (1:53.20) and Cal\u2019s <strong>Keaton Blovad<\/strong> (1:54.02) rounds out the the finals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Simone Manuel<\/strong> took the top seed in the 100 free (47.14) just ahead of Cal\u2019s <strong>Abbey Weitzeil<\/strong> (47.43).<\/p>\n<p>Cal\u2019s <strong>Robin Neumann<\/strong> was third (48.38), followed by UCLA\u2019s <strong>Kenisha Liu<\/strong> (48.57), USC\u2019s <strong>Tatum Wade<\/strong> (48.89), Cal\u2019s <strong>Valerie Hull<\/strong> (48.94), Arizona\u2019s <strong>Jamie Stone<\/strong> (48.97) and <strong>Katrina Konopka<\/strong> (49.09).<\/p>\n<p>In the 200 breaststroke, Arizona State\u2019s <strong>Silja Kansakoski<\/strong> took the top seed in 2:07.79.<\/p>\n<p>USC\u2019s <strong>Maggie Aroesty<\/strong> was second (2:08.04), followed by Stanford\u2019s <strong>Brooke Forde<\/strong> (2:08.15), UCLA\u2019s <strong>Emma Schanz<\/strong> (2:08.76), USC\u2019s <strong>Riley Scott<\/strong> (2:09.20), Stanford\u2019s <strong>Grace Zhao<\/strong> (2:10.38), Arizona State\u2019s <strong>Marlies Ross<\/strong> (2:10.55), and Cal\u2019s <strong>Ali Harrison<\/strong> (2:10.84).<\/p>\n<p>Stanford\u2019s <strong>Katie Drabot<\/strong> (1:51.99) and <strong>Ella Eastin<\/strong> (1:52.14) took the top two seeds in the 200 butterfly.<\/p>\n<p>USC\u2019s <strong>Louise Hansson<\/strong> (1:53.23) and <strong>Maddie Wright<\/strong> (1:53.38) followed.
