Hunting Valley won the boys state title by eight points while Gates Mills Hawken dominated the girls team score.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2018-ohio-high-school-division-ii-results-high-school-2018-02-23.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Full Results<\/a><\/h3>\n<h1>Girls Meet<\/h1>\n<p>The first record came from Gates Mills Hawken\u2019s <strong>Portia Del Rio Brown <\/strong>(25.33), <strong>Sydney Bare <\/strong>(29.28), <strong>Abby Hay <\/strong>(23.91) and <strong>Bainon Hart <\/strong>(23.11) in the 4&#215;50 medley relay. The quartet combined to post a 1:41.63 to take down the pervious Ohio state record, finishing ahead of Columbus School for Girls (1:45.20) and Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown (1:47.17).<\/p>\n<p>Future Georgia Bulldog Del Rio Brown almost broke the two-minute barrier in the 200 IM, winning with a final time of 2:00.04. Her teammate Hay finished second in 2:01.26 and Columbus School for Girls\u2019 <strong>Jordan Aurnou-Rhees <\/strong>took third in 2:02.94. Del Rio Brown also won the 100 back in 54.47, followed by Cincinnati Seven Hills\u2019 <strong>Emma Shuppert <\/strong>(54.54) and Bellefontaine\u2019s <strong>Amy Fulmer <\/strong>(55.20).<\/p>\n<p>Aurnou-Rhees won the 100 fly in 54.47, making it a one-second best time for the sophomore. Hay took second in 55.12 and Dayton Carroll\u2019s <strong>Emily Sullivan <\/strong>finished third in 56.03.<\/p>\n<p>Seven Hills\u2019 <strong>Lucy Callard <\/strong>won a close 200 free battle in 1:48.81, just ahead of Arcanum\u2019s <strong>Isabella Gable <\/strong>(1:48.93). Dayton Chaminade Julien\u2019s <strong>Macleary Moran <\/strong>finished third in 1:51.71. Callard, who is committed to swim at Duke, dominated the 500 free to win in 4:51.11, ahead of Gates Mills Hawken\u2019s <strong>Sylvia Stewart-Bates <\/strong>(4:58.64) and Moran (5:00.67).<\/p>\n<p>Cincinnati Mariemont junior <strong>Cora Dupre <\/strong>sprinted her way to a state title in the 50 free, stopping the clock in a quick 22.56 as the only swimmer to break the 23-second barrier. Hart finished second in 23.24 and her teammate <strong>Mairin O\u2019Brien <\/strong>took third in 23.68. Dupre also cruised to first in the 100 free in 49.20, ahead of Fulmer (50.59) grabbed second and Toledo St. Ursula\u2019s <strong>Audrey Cesar <\/strong>(51.67) swam to third.<\/p>\n<p>Toledo St. Ursula\u2019s <strong>Molly Dynda <\/strong>(24.53), <strong>Corinne Staneart <\/strong>(24.57), <strong>Catherine Kight <\/strong>(23.86) and Cesar (23.27) were victorious in the 4&#215;50 free relay, posting a final time of 1:36.23. Napolean finished second (1:36.92) while Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown (1:37.99) wound up in third.<\/p>\n<p>Baltimore Liberty Union\u2019s <strong>Logan Lawhorn <\/strong>won the 100 breast in a final time of 1:03.20, followed closely by Gates Mills Gilmour Academy\u2019s <strong>Cate Ohaimhirgin <\/strong>(1:03.64) and Beloit West Branch\u2019s <strong>Jamyson Robb <\/strong>(1:03.83).<\/p>\n<p>On the boards, Pepper Pike Orange\u2019s <strong>Janie Boyle <\/strong>dove to first on the 1-meter with a score of 476.15. Gahanna Columbus Academy\u2019s <strong>Jordan Skilken <\/strong>dove to second with 452.45 points and Chesterland West Geuaga\u2019s <strong>Kamryn Goodrick <\/strong>finished third with a score of 449.10.<\/p>\n<p>Gates Mills Hawken\u2019s O\u2019Brien (51.78), Hart (51.30), Hay (51.15) and Del Rio Brown (51.43) concluded the girls meet with a win in the 4&#215;100 free relay en route to setting a new Ohio state record in the event. Cincinnati Mariemont (3:26.31) was second and Toledo St. Ursula (3:31.55) was third.<\/p>\n<h3>Top 5 Girls Team Scores:<\/h3>\n<p>1.\u00a0Gates Mills Hawken\u00a0&#8211; 345<br \/>\n2.\u00a0Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown &#8211;\u00a0157<br \/>\n3.\u00a0Toledo St. Ursula\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0148<br \/>\n4.\u00a0Cincinnati Mariemont\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0141<br \/>\n5.\u00a0Columbus School for Girls &#8211; 136<\/p>\n<h1>Boys Meet<\/h1>\n<p>Hunting Valley\u2019s <strong>Owen Hannah <\/strong>(23.47), <strong>Cal Ritzmann <\/strong>(26.70), <strong>Frank Applebaum <\/strong>(22.95) and <strong>Cole Fallon <\/strong>(21.35) began the boys meet with a win in the 4&#215;50 medley relay. The quartet narrowly won in 1:34.47 ahead of Bellbrook (1:34.75) and Gates Mills Hawken (1:34.99).<\/p>\n<p>Bellbrook\u2019s <strong>Cody Bybee<\/strong>, who will swim at Arizona State this fall, dominated the 200 free in 1:34.02. He placed first by over seven seconds and his time set a new Ohio state record. His teammate <strong>John Sampson <\/strong>finished second in 1:41.14 and Gahanna Columbus Academy\u2019s <strong>Max Dreisbach <\/strong>took second in 1:41.32.<\/p>\n<p>Bybee also won the 100 fly in 47.36, not quite getting his state mark of 46.97 he set last year. Hart took second in 48.61 and MacMillan was third in 49.95.<\/p>\n<p>Waynesville sophomore <strong>Owen Conley <\/strong>won the 200 IM in 1:48.94 en route to setting a new state record in the event. Dayton Carroll\u2019s <strong>Connor Blatt <\/strong>(1:51.38) was second and Kettering\u2019s <strong>Kevin Leibold <\/strong>(1:53.36) was third. Conley also won the 500 free in 4:31.22, out-touching Leibold (4:31.42) and Hunting Valley\u2019s <strong>Ethan Banks <\/strong>(4:33.50).<\/p>\n<p>Middletown Bishop Fenwick sophomore <strong>Adam Chaney <\/strong>sprinted his way to first place in the 50 free, stopping the clock in a swift 20.40. Gates Mills Hawken\u2019s <strong>Zeb Hart <\/strong>was second in 20.92 and Bay Village\u2019s <strong>Colin MacMillan <\/strong>was a close third in 20.96. Chaney also won a close 100 free in 44.26, just ahead of Alliance\u2019s <strong>Will Rose <\/strong>(44.42) and Gahanna Columbus Academy\u2019s <strong>Jacob Eismann <\/strong>(44.54).<\/p>\n<p>Eismann and Sampson tied for first in the 100 back, both hitting the wall in 49.34. Rose finished third by only .01 in 49.35. Bowling Green\u2019s <strong>CJ Layne <\/strong>dominated the 100 breast in 55.83 ahead of Cincinnati Mariemont\u2019s <strong>Ian Mikesell <\/strong>(57.11) and Cincinnati Seven Hills\u2019 <strong>Tindar Cyr <\/strong>(57.32)<\/p>\n<p>Columbus Bishop Watterson\u2019s <strong>Thomas Clark <\/strong>(21.86), <strong>Michael Vondran <\/strong>(21.76), <strong>David Coss <\/strong>(21.37) and <strong>Perry Finnegan<\/strong> (20.67) were victorious in the 4&#215;50 free relay, posting a final time of 1:25.66. Gates Mills Hawken finished second (1:26.09) while Hunting Valley (1:27.28) wound up in third.<\/p>\n<p>Indian Hill\u2019s <strong>Noah Vigran <\/strong>dominated the 1-meter diving, finishing over 100 points ahead of second place with a final score of 584.45. The senior, who will be diving for Stanford this fall, had a total score that set a new Ohio state record. Cincinatti Wyoming\u2019s <strong>Ilusha Gerasimchuk <\/strong>(440.30) dove to second and Beachwood\u2019s <strong>Spencer Bystrom <\/strong>(430.15) finished third.<\/p>\n<p>Gahanna Columbus Academy\u2019s <strong>Mike DeAscentis <\/strong>(47.64), <strong>Jack Campbell <\/strong>(48.41), Dreisback (46.08) and Eismann (44.82) concluded the boys meet with a win in the 4&#215;100 free relay, posting a final time of 3:06.95.
