The Hoosiers won every event in the pool on Friday night except the 400 IM and 200 free relay that were claimed by Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana went 1-2 in three events on Friday night as\u00a0<strong>Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>swam an unshaved 1:31 in the 200 free and\u00a0<strong>Ian Finnerty\u00a0<\/strong>swam the second fastest time in the nation this year in the 100 breast. The Hoosiers also got a number of points in diving as that has kept them in the meet with Michigan&#8217;s impressive swimming depth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charlie Swanson\u00a0<\/strong>of Michigan won the 400 IM to continue the Michigan tradition in the event as Indiana&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gabriel Fantoni\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Vini Lanza\u00a0<\/strong>took home titles in the 100 back and 100 fly.<\/p>\n<pre>   Men - Team Rankings - Through Event 14                      \r\n \r\n  1. Lanza won the race going away as Michigan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Evan White\u00a0<\/strong>was second (45.63) and Ohio State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Noah Lense\u00a0<\/strong>(45.91) was third.<\/p>\n<p>Lanza won the final but was the only swimmer from IU in the top eight as Michigan had three championship finalists and still leads through eight events. Swanson swam a 3:39.16 to just break the pool record set by\u00a0<strong>Ous Mellouli\u00a0<\/strong>of USC at the 2005 NCAA&#8217;s. Swanson defends his title from last year that he won as a freshman. Michigan had a 1-2-3 finish with\u00a0<strong>Thomas Cope\u00a0<\/strong>(3:42.86) and\u00a0<strong>Ricardo Vargas\u00a0<\/strong>(3;43.73) finishing second and third. Senior captain\u00a0<strong>PJ Ransford\u00a0<\/strong>(3:46.27) had a spectacular finish to get fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan has now won 19 of the last 20 Big Ten titles in the 400 IM as Wisconsin&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michael Weiss\u00a0<\/strong>won in 2013. Pieroni&#8217;s time comes just hours after Harvard&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dean Farris\u00a0<\/strong>went a 1:31.12 at Ivy League Championships. Pieroni went 1-2 with\u00a0<strong>Mohamed Samy\u00a0<\/strong>(1:32.56) as the Hoosiers collected big points.<\/p>\n<p>Aubock ended up fading to fourth with a 1:33.23 as he was beat by Ohio State freshman\u00a0<strong>Paul Delakis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:32.86).<\/p>\n<p>Pieroni destroyed his meet record of 1:32.13 from last season and also destroyed the pool record of 1:32.21 by Florida&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Brett Fraser\u00a0<\/strong>from the 2011 NCAA&#8217;s. He dropped from his 50.82 this morning and picked up another 1-2 finish with teammate\u00a0<strong>Levi Brock\u00a0<\/strong>(51.45). They just out-touched Indiana who was second at 1:16.56.<\/p>\n<p>The win for Michigan is their first Big Ten title in the 200 free relay since 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The Hoosiers swam\u00a0<strong>Ali Khalafalla\u00a0<\/strong>(19.47),\u00a0<strong>Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>(18.90),\u00a0<strong>Bruno Blaskovic\u00a0<\/strong>(18.97) and\u00a0<strong>Nikola Miljenic\u00a0<\/strong>(19.22) as they ultimately came up short. The Hoosiers still lead by 10 points going into the last day tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota was third thanks to a solid leadoff by Big Ten champion\u00a0<strong>Bowen Becker\u00a0<\/strong>(18.80).
