The Hoosiers are the defending champions and won both relays last night to start the meet. Michigan though had the strongest morning with nine swimmers getting back in A-finals while Indiana got six. If Indiana will be in the lead at the end of tonight, it will be because of their divers.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Felix Aubock<\/strong>, Indiana&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vini Lanza\u00a0<\/strong>and Minnesota&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bowen Becker\u00a0<\/strong>all swam the fastest times in their events and will return as top seeds tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Swimming in their home pool, the Golden Gophers&#8217; Becker has a chance to upset\u00a0<strong>Paul Powers\u00a0<\/strong>of Michigan, who has won three straight conference titles in the 50 free.<\/p>\n<p>Below is a list of the ups (A-finals), mids (B-finals) and downs (C-finals) for tonight&#8217;s swimming events. The teams are in order of team standings after last night&#8217;s relays.<\/p>\n<h3>Ups, Mids, Downs<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Indiana, 6, 2, 6<\/li>\n<li>Ohio State, 5, 5, 0<\/li>\n<li>Michigan, 9, 7, 2<\/li>\n<li>Minnesota, 1, 0, 6<\/li>\n<li>Iowa, 0, 3, 4<\/li>\n<li>Wisconsin, 2, 2, 3<\/li>\n<li>Penn State, 0, 1, 2<\/li>\n<li>Purdue, 1, 4, 0<\/li>\n<li>Northwestern, 0, 0, 1<\/li>\n<li>Michigan State, 0, 1, 0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>500 Free<\/h3>\n<p>Michigan showed its dominance in the prelims of the 500 taking the first three spots. Defending champion\u00a0<strong>Felix Aubock\u00a0<\/strong>swam a comfortable 4:13.18 to get the top seed.\u00a0<strong>PJ Ransford\u00a0<\/strong>(4:15.41) and\u00a0<strong>Ricardo Vargas\u00a0<\/strong>(4:15.83) followed him for second and third.<\/p>\n<p>If Michigan has a chance to knock off Indiana, they are going to rely on their distance swimmers to get them lots of points as Indiana only had one finalist in the race. Michigan also had three swimmers in the B-Final. Lanza will be joined by\u00a0<strong>Ian Finnerty\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.35) and\u00a0<strong>Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.92) in the A-final as Michigan also got three swimmers in the championship final.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Evan White\u00a0<\/strong>(1:42.54),\u00a0<strong>Thomas Cope\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.11) and\u00a0<strong>Jacob Montague\u00a0<\/strong>(1:44.06) will swim in the championship final for the Wolverines. Ohio State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Paul Delakis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.39) had the biggest drop this morning with a five second drop from his seed. Becker swam an 18.2 anchoring Minnesota last night and it is no surprise he was the only swimmer to break 19 seconds this morning. Becker is ahead of three-time defending Big Ten Champion\u00a0Powers of Michigan, who swam a 19.04 this morning. Powers had the meet record that was an 18.80 from last year.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ali Khalafalla\u00a0<\/strong>(19.22) is the third seed with his Hoosier teammate\u00a0<strong>Bruno Blaskovic\u00a0<\/strong>(19.36) sitting in fifth.
