Looking for their fourth straight conference title, the Wolfpack will have eight A-finalists for Thursday night&#8217;s finals session.<\/p>\n<p>Kicking things off in the 500 free, NC State senior\u00a0<strong>Anton Ipsen\u00a0<\/strong>laid down a strong 4:14.67 to take the top spot, and his freshman teammate\u00a0<strong>Eric Knowles\u00a0<\/strong>took second in 4:15.46. Held came in at 18.86, with Ress just behind in 18.96. Those two join\u00a0<strong>Caeleb Dressel\u00a0<\/strong>(18.66) as the only men to officially break 19 seconds so far this season.<\/p>\n<p>(Auburn&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zach Apple\u00a0<\/strong>posted an 18.91 leading off his team&#8217;s 200 free relay at the SEC championships last week, and after his team was disqualified on the second changeover, his time does not appear to count.)<\/p>\n<p>Louisville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrej Barna<\/strong>, who delivered the Cardinals a win in the 200 medley relay with an 18.54 anchor split, came in third in qualifying in 19.16.
