Scarborough finished close behind with 259 points, followed by Falmouth (226.5), Kennebunk (218) and Bangor (214).<\/p>\n<p>Cheverus High School won the boys&#8217; Class A team crown for the sixth-straight year, finishing with a total of 328 points. Bangor took second with 250 points, followed by Brunswick (174), Waterville-Winslow (152) and Portland (145).<\/p>\n<h2>Girls Meet<\/h2>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2018-maine-girls-class-a-championships\/high-school\/2018\/February\/19?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fhigh-school%3Fpage%3D1%26orderBy%3DResult.MeetStartDateTime%26sortDirection%3D1%26q%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Full Results<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Cony&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tessa Jorgensen\u00a0<\/strong>(30.70),\u00a0<strong>Cecilia Guadalupi\u00a0<\/strong>(30.20),\u00a0<strong>Gabby Low\u00a0<\/strong>(25.15) and\u00a0<strong>Talia Jorgensen\u00a0<\/strong>(27.33) began the meet with a win in the 4&#215;50 medley relay, stopping the clock with a final time of 1:53.38. Jorgensen (25.40),\u00a0<strong>Amanda Jorgensen\u00a0<\/strong>(26.68), Low (24.34) and\u00a0Guadalupi (24.19) were also victorious in the 4&#215;50 free relay (1:40.61).<\/p>\n<p>Low dominated the 100 fly,\u00a0posting a time of 55.38 as the only swimmer under the one-minute barrier.\u00a0Messalonskee&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kenzie Burton\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 1:00.41 and Falmouth&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mae Causey\u00a0<\/strong>took third in 1:02.51. She also won the 100 back in 56.28 ahead of Scarborough&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Charlotte Pratt\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.10) and Waterville-Winslow&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Leah Shoulta\u00a0<\/strong>(1:04.63).<\/p>\n<p>Guadalupi (24.75) sprinted to first place in the 50 free, followed by\u00a0Scarborough teammates<strong>\u00a0<strong>Hannah Griffin\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>(25.08) and\u00a0<strong>Jane Greenberg\u00a0<\/strong>(25.77). She also won the 500 free (5:12.43) followed by Kennebunk&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Isabel Harms\u00a0<\/strong>(5:22.43) and Scarborough&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Morgan Porter\u00a0<\/strong>(5:24.16).<\/p>\n<p>Griffin<b>\u00a0<\/b>cruised to first in the 200 IM, touching the wall in 2:11.58 to finish nearly five seconds ahead of runner-up\u00a0<strong>Caroline Arpin\u00a0<\/strong>(2:16.35) of Cheverus and her teammate\u00a0<strong>Emma MacDonald\u00a0<\/strong>(2:17.42).<\/p>\n<p>Talia Jorgensen earned the gold in the 100 free in a time of\u00a054.89. LEW&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Brooke Cloutier\u00a0<\/strong>(55.66) was second and Pratt<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(56.39) took third. SP&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Molly Mawhinney\u00a0<\/strong>won the 100 breast (1:09.18) while Cloutier (1:09.31) and Kennebunk&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Grace Soucy\u00a0<\/strong>(1:12.03) finished second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Burton<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 free in 1:58.53. Porter<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>also dipped under the two-minute barrier to finish second in 1:59.70 and Talia Jorgensen took third in 2:00.26. Scarborough&#8217;s Porter (55.93), Greenberg (56.55),\u00a0MacDonald (57.19) and Griffin (54.68) teamed up to win the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:44.35.<\/p>\n<p>Bangor&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ella Stone\u00a0<\/strong>dominated the 1-meter diving, earning first place with a final score of 415.45. Falmouth&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sophia Ham\u00a0<\/strong>dove to second with 360.60 points and Kennebunk&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Taylor Nguyen\u00a0<\/strong>finished third with a score of 318.60.<\/p>\n<h2>Boys Meet<\/h2>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2018-maine-boys-class-a-championships\/high-school\/2018\/February\/17?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fhigh-school%3Fpage%3D1%26orderBy%3DResult.MeetStartDateTime%26sortDirection%3D1%26q%3D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Full Results<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Bangor&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Carson Prouty\u00a0<\/strong>(24.05),\u00a0<strong>Colby Prouty\u00a0<\/strong>(24.97),\u00a0<strong>Derek Irish\u00a0<\/strong>(24.59) and\u00a0<strong>Brenden Martin\u00a0<\/strong>(23.72) began the meet by dominating the 4&#215;50 medley relay, winning the event by over four seconds with a time of 1:37.33. Their time eclipsed their own state and meet record of 1:37.61 set last year at this meet.\u00a0Carson Prouty (21.34),\u00a0<strong>Jeffrey Burns\u00a0<\/strong>(24.29), Irish (22.99) and Colby Prouty (21.73) also teamed up to give Bangor a win in the 4&#215;50 free relay in 1:30.35.<\/p>\n<p>Cheverus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Brim Peabody\u00a0<\/strong>won a close 200 free battle, touching the wall in 1:43.78 to out-touch Carson Prouty&#8217;s 1:43.81 as both swimmers finished well ahead of the rest of the field. Cheverus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Phineas Underwood\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in 1:50.20.<\/p>\n<p>Peabody, a freshman, later cruised to first in the 500 free, winning the race by 16 seconds in 4:47.41. Scarborough&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gavin McLeod\u00a0<\/strong>(5:03.37)\u00a0swam to second and Waterville-Winslow&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>John Reisert\u00a0<\/strong>(5:07.11) finished in third.<\/p>\n<p>After earning a silver in the 200 free, Carson Prouty earned his gold in the 100 back. The sophomore won with a quick 51.81, followed by Cony&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nathaniel Berry\u00a0<\/strong>(54.00) and Portland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Will Couture\u00a0<\/strong>(54.04).<\/p>\n<p>Colby Prouty, who will swim for UConn next year,\u00a0demolished the field in the 200 IM to win by nearly 13 seconds in 1:52.75. His time broke the previous meet record of 1:53.07 set back in 2013. Deering&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Owen McLaughlin\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in 2:05.06 and Cheverus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Ben Adams\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 2:05.96 for third.<\/p>\n<p>Colby Prouty crushed his own state and meet record of 57.31 in the 100 breast en route to posting a final time of 56.17 for the win. Brunswick&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Brian Hess\u00a0<\/strong>took second in 1:00.64 and Hampden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cameron LaBree\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 1:03.83.<\/p>\n<p>Hess<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>won the 50 free in 21.87 as the only swimmer to crack the 22-second barrier.\u00a0Berry<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(22.49) and Thornton Academy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Eli Steward\u00a0<\/strong>(22.50), were second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>LaBree<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>powered his way to first place in the 100 fly, finishing with a time of 53.22. Couture<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>got his hands on the wall in 53.39 for second and Messalonskee&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Edmund Couture\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 54.77 for third.<\/p>\n<p>Brunswick&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Matt Yost\u00a0<\/strong>earned the gold in the 100 free, stopping the clock in a time of 4913. Steward (49.21) grabbed the silver while Underwood (50.22) snagged the bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Cheverus&#8217; Underwood (50.55), Peabody (50.48),\u00a0<strong>Jeremy Baker\u00a0<\/strong>(53.94) and Adams (50.20) combined to win the 4&#215;100 free relay in 3:25.17, just ahead of Brunswick&#8217;s 3:25.35.<\/p>\n<p>On the boards, Bucksport&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anthony Wardwell\u00a0<\/strong>dove to first in the 1-meter diving with a total score of 396.00.
