Dworet was one of seventeen people who were killed at the shooting at Majory Stoneman Douglas High School. Bick<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National High School record in the 100 breast went back and forth this weekend between <\/span><b>Max McHugh <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Reece Whitley <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at their respective high school championships, with Whitley ultimately leaving his meet with the mark. McHugh, who is a senior at Sturgeon Bay Co-op, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/max-mchugh-clocks-100-breaststroke-national-high-school-record\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">took down the National High School record on Friday<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, hitting the wall in 51.62 to get past Whitley\u2019s old record of 51.84 by two-tenths. Whitley fired back with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/reece-whitley-posts-national-hs-records-in-200-im-100-breast\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a 51.68 in prelims<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on Saturday morning before <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/reece-whitley-lowers-national-hs-record-in-100-breaststroke\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">coming back in finals to reclaim the record with a 51.16<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The Penn Charter senior also broke the 200 IM National Independent High School record in prelims, touching in 1:43.55 to taken down <\/span><b>Curtis Orgen\u2019s <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2014 record. <\/span><b>David Nolan <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">holds the overall National High School record of 1:42.39 from 2011. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>The Week That Was #3 &#8211; Florida senior <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/138-in-the-200-im-caeleb-dressel-always-wanted-more\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Caeleb Dressel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was the biggest name of the weekend<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, surprising many around the country with NCAA and American records in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/caeleb-dressel-crushes-american-record-in-200-im\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the 200 IM (1:38.13)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/caeleb-dressel-posts-50-03-in-100-breast-beats-americanncaa-record-by-0-01\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">100 breaststroke (50.03)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. That makes Dressel the fastest man in history in either event, both races that he has yet to compete in at the NCAA Championships. He added a third title in the 100 free (41.01), six-hundredths faster than his meet record from\u00a02016,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2018-sec-swimming-and-diving-championships-day-five-finals-live-recap\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">before breaking it again leading off the 400 free relay in 40.87<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
