Miege was second with 197 points.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Miege&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Max Hernandez-Nietling<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Lex Hernandez-Nietling<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mario Ezama<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Sam Smith\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 medley relay in 1:36.79, just ahead of Topeka-Seaman&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cameron Stanley<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Noah Florence<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Zeke Metz<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Janson Garman\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:36.97.<\/p>\n<p>Metz won the 200 freestyle by three seconds in 1:40.81. He posted a 4:40.56 to win the 500 freestyle. Wichita-Trinity&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ben Patton\u00a0<\/strong>secured 200 IM victory in 1:50.26. Wichita Heights&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Aidan Gantenbein\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 50.97 for 100 backstroke victory.<\/p>\n<p>A 21.16 secured Bishop-Miege&#8217;s Max Hernandez-Nietlin the 50 freestyle title. He also won the 100 butterfly with a 50.30. His brother Lex won the 100 freestyle in 45.84 and the 100 breaststroke in 57.09.<\/p>\n<p>Topeka-Seaman&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Josh Graves<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>James Sadler<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Joshua Florence<\/strong>, and Garman won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:27.77. The quartet of Metz, Graves, Stanley, and Florence posted a 3:11.99 to win the 400 freestyle relay.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2018-kansas-boys-1a-5a-hs-states-results-high-school-2018-02-24.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Full results<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>6A<\/h3>\n<p>SM East scored 316.5 points ahead of Blue Valley North&#8217;s 297.5 points.<\/p>\n<p>Blue Valley North&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jack Brimacombe<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jackson Rhodes<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Marshall Wietharn<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Sean North\u00a0<\/strong>out touched Wichita-East&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sam Hutchinson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jack Quah<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Earl Hwang<\/strong>,\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Hugh McPherson\u00a0<\/strong>1:36.74 to 1:36.76. McPherson&#8217;s 46.18 in the 100 freestyle was good for gold.<\/p>\n<p>Lawrence&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stephen Johnson\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 freestyle in 1:40.74 and won the 500 freestyle in 4:41.68. Manhattan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Preston Harris\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 49.88 to win the 100 butterfly.<\/p>\n<p>Washburn Rural&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tarrin Fisher\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 1:53.01 200 IM to win the event. He also topped the 100 breaststroke in 56.15.<\/p>\n<p>Blue Valley&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ryan Richards\u00a0<\/strong>topped the 50 freestyle in 21.26. Free State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Evan Eskilson\u00a0<\/strong>won the 100 backstroke in 51.06. Manhattan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Preston Harrison\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 51.76, just ahead of BV West&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kevin Glenn\u00a0<\/strong>(51.79).<\/p>\n<p>SM East secured a 200 freestyle victory in 1:26.08 with the team of\u00a0<strong>Elias Lowland<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>PJ Spencer<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Aidan Holbrook<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Evan Root<\/strong>.
