During the Saturday morning prelim session at the SEC championships, Florida superstar\u00a0Caeleb Dressel\u00a0<\/strong>returned to the pool after a full day off Friday and recorded the fastest time in the men’s 100 breast prelims. Dressel has set himself up to go after yet another record in the evening finals session.<\/p>\n

Aside from the women’s and men’s 100 breast, events on the morning program included the 200 fly and 100 back.<\/p>\n

Georgia’s\u00a0Megan Kingsley\u00a0<\/strong>posted by far the top time in the women’s 200 fly prelims, coming in at 1:52.62. Only the Stanford duo of\u00a0Katie Drabot\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<\/strong>Ella Eastin<\/strong> has been quicker so far this season. Kingsley finished third in the 200 fly at the NCAA meet as a sophomore but struggled with injuries last year before having surgery on both knees after the NCAA championships.<\/p>\n

Tennessee’s\u00a0Meghan Small<\/strong> qualified second but more than a full second back in 1:53.97. Missouri’s\u00a0Sharli Brady<\/strong> took third in 1:54.58. Texas A&M’s\u00a0King Quah\u00a0<\/strong>(1:54.62) and Georgia’s\u00a0Caitlin Casazza\u00a0<\/strong>(1:54.91) also got under 1:55 in prelims.<\/p>\n

Other finalists included Georgia’s\u00a0Chelsea Britt\u00a0<\/strong>(1:55.07), Florida’s\u00a0Taylor Pike\u00a0<\/strong>(1:56.21) and Kentucky’s\u00a0Lauren Edelman\u00a0<\/strong>(1:56.86).<\/p>\n

Texas A&M’s men sit in second place in the team competition, and the Aggies had another big showing in the men’s 200 fly prelims.\u00a0Brock Bonnetti\u00a0<\/strong>earned the top seed in the event at 1:41.83, and teammate\u00a0Jose Martinez<\/strong> was third in 1:42.54. Splitting the difference was\u00a0Fynn Minuth<\/strong>, the South Carolina junior who already won the 500 free. Minuth qualified second in 1:42.53.<\/p>\n
Florida’s\u00a0Jan Switkowski<\/strong>, the 100 fly winner Friday night, took fourth in 1:42.68, and Georgia’s\u00a0Gunnar Bentz<\/strong> finished fifth in 1:43.07.LSU’s\u00a0Harrison Jones\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.31), Georgia’s\u00a0Camden Murphy\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.32) and Missouri’s\u00a0Micah Slaton\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.57) also made the final.<\/p>\n

Kentucky’s\u00a0Asia Seidt\u00a0<\/strong>finished two tenths ahead of the field in the women’s 100 back prelims, qualifying in a quick time of 51.16. The sophomore will be fully surrounded by seniors in the final as Georgia’s\u00a0Kylie Stewart\u00a0<\/strong>qualified second (51.39), Texas A&M’s\u00a0Lisa Bratton\u00a0<\/strong>took third (51.58), Missouri’s\u00a0Hannah Stevens\u00a0<\/strong>was fourth (51.91) and Tennessee’s\u00a0Micah Bohon<\/strong> grabbed fifth (52.02).<\/p>\n
Florida’s\u00a0Sherridon Dressel\u00a0<\/strong>finished sixth in 52.17, and claiming the outside lanes for the final were Florida’s\u00a0Emma Ball <\/strong>(52.23) and Kentucky’s\u00a0Bridgette Alexander\u00a0<\/strong>(52.27).<\/p>\n

Georgia’s\u00a0Javier Acevedo\u00a0<\/strong>turned in the only time under 46 seconds in the men’s 100 back, hitting the wall in 45.68 for the No. 1 overall seed. Alabama swimmers finished second and third with\u00a0Luke Kaliszak\u00a0<\/strong>(46.09) and\u00a0Zane Waddell\u00a0<\/strong>(46.21) both posting solid morning efforts.<\/p>\n
Tennessee’s\u00a0Matthew Garcia\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth in 46.49, followed by the Florida trio of\u00a0Bailey Main\u00a0<\/strong>(46.55),\u00a0Michael Taylor\u00a0<\/strong>(46.74) and\u00a0Brennan Balogh<\/strong> (46.77) Missouri’s\u00a0Daniel Hein\u00a0<\/strong>finished eighth in 46.91.<\/p>\n

Texas A&M swept the top two spots in the women’s 100 breast prelims, with freshman\u00a0Anna Belousova\u00a0<\/strong>recording a blistering time of 58.40 and senior teammate\u00a0Jorie Caneta\u00a0<\/strong>taking second in 59.22. Tennessee’s\u00a0Katie Armitage\u00a0<\/strong>qualified third in 59.44.<\/p>\n
Kentucky’s\u00a0Bailey Bonnett\u00a0<\/strong>(59.80) and\u00a0Madison Winstead\u00a0<\/strong>(59.81) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, and also making the final were Alabama’s\u00a0Justine Mcfarlane\u00a0<\/strong>(59.92), South Carolina’s\u00a0Kersten Dirrane\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.17) and Tennessee’s\u00a0Tjasa Pintar\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.60).<\/p>\n

To finish out the morning, Dressel qualified first in the men’s 100 breast by a second and a half. He touched the wall in 51.07, ahead of Texas A&M’s\u00a0Mauro Castillo Luna\u00a0<\/strong>(52.56). That time made Dressel the ninth-fastest performer in history and easily the top swimmer in the country this season.<\/p>\n
The South Carolina duo of\u00a0Itay Goldfaden\u00a0<\/strong>(52.58) and\u00a0Nils Wich-Glasen\u00a0<\/strong>(52.62) took third and fourth, respectively, and Alabama’s\u00a0Laurent Bams<\/strong> came in fifth at 52.83. Also qualifying for the final were Florida’s\u00a0Marco Guarente <\/strong>(52.89),\u00a0Missouri’s\u00a0Jordan O’Brien <\/strong>(52.94) and\u00a0Tennessee’s Peter Stevens\u00a0<\/strong>(52.95).<\/p>\n
