As for the men&#8217;s side, Florida has the lead with 595 points, but Texas A&amp;M (527), Georgia (514) and Tennessee (506) sit not that far behind.<\/p>\n<p>Read below for event-by-event recaps from the finals session.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Texas A&amp;M&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sydney Pickrem\u00a0<\/strong>added a 400 IM victory to her earlier triumph in the 200 IM, taking the lead on the backstroke leg, holding teammate\u00a0<strong>Bethany Galat\u00a0<\/strong>at bay on the breaststroke leg and pulling away on the free. Pickrem finished in 3:59.30 to win the race by almost four seconds. She surpassed\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky\u00a0<\/strong>(3:59.69) as the fastest swimmer in the country this season.<\/p>\n<p>Galat ended up finishing second in 4:04.17, and South Carolina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emma Barksdale\u00a0<\/strong>took third in 4:05.66 for the first podium finish for the Gamecock women this week.<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Meghan Small<\/strong> touched fourth in 4:07.17, and Missouri&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sharli Brady\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth in 4:07.47. The freshman from Spain hit the wall in 3:35.76, behind only <strong>Chase Kalisz<\/strong> on the all-time list. Kalisz has twice been quicker, so the time ranks as the third-fastest performance in history.<\/p>\n<p>Florida&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mark Szaranek\u00a0<\/strong>put together a stellar swim of his own to finish second, and his time of 3:37.50 moves him into No. 2 in the national rankings this season behind Gonzalez. South Carolina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Brandonn Almeida\u00a0<\/strong>took third in 3:39.09, becoming the second freshman to make the podium.<\/p>\n<p>Almeida&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Tom Peribonio\u00a0<\/strong>took fourth in 3:41.67, while Georgia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jay Litherland\u00a0<\/strong>finished a surprising fifth (3:42.50). Litherland&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Gunnar Bentz<\/strong> finished event further back, seventh, in 3:45.92. Switkowski came home fastest on the last 25 and touched in 45.26, well ahead of Castillo (45.63).<\/p>\n<p>Texas A&amp;M put two men on the podium as\u00a0<strong>Jose Martinez<\/strong> came in third at 45.69.
