PHOENIX, Arizona, February 17. DURING the past week, the following meet managers took full advantage of uploading their results to the Swimming World meet results section of the website.<\/p>\n
AGE GROUP
\nFLORIDA YMCA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS<\/p>\n
Florida’s YMCA teams gathered in Orlando at the YMCA Aquatic Center for the Florida YMCA State Championships Feb. 10-12. The meet was co-hosted by Sarasota YMCA and the YMCA of Central Florida, and was swum in short course yards.<\/p>\n
Sarasota totally dominated the competition, scoring a combined 11,572.5 points. YMCA of Central Florida was a distant second with 4,459.5 points; Tampa Bay YMCA collected 3,490.5 points, good for third; the Palm Harbor Piranhas came in fourth with 3,367, followed by YMCA of Florida’s First Coast with 1,516.<\/p>\n

CAT LAST CHANCE TIME TRIAL<\/p>\n
In Long Center, Florida, Clearwater Aquatic Team gave its swimmers a last chance to qualify for upcoming championship competitions on Feb. 11. The weather was great, and many new cuts were achieved during the one-day trials. The meet was held in short course yards.<\/p>\n

HIGH SCHOOL
\nHARFORD COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS
\nThe C. Milton Wright Mustangs girls team finished with 397 points to capture the girls team title at the Harford County Championships Feb. 7 at the Magnolia Middle School. Patterson Hill took second, scoring 318 points; North Harford took third with 235 points, followed by Bel Air (212) and Havre de Grace (190).<\/p>\n
The boys took to the water Feb. 9 after a one-day’s delay due to snow. C. Milton Wright made it a sweep with their 362-point total. Havre de Grace followed in second with 308, with Fallston third (285), Harford Tech (221) and Patterson Mill edging out Bel Air for fifth, 181-180.<\/p>\n

CENTRAL SUBURBAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS-SOUTH
\nThe New Trier Trevians picked up their seventh Central Suburban League (CSL) title in a row, and 17 of the last 18, Feb. 11 in Evanston. New Trier racked up 415 points, with Glenbrook South coming in second (273), followed by Evanston (264), Maine South (122), Niles West (115) and Waukegan (56).<\/p>\n
New Trier swimmers captured every single event of the meet, except the 200 free relay when the team suffered a disqualification. Four meet records fell to diver Jordan Sacks (496.10), the 200 medley (1:35.08) and 400 free (3:08.19) relays, and Jack Mangan in the 100 back (50.52). Reed Malone tied the mark in the 200 IM with his 1:54.07.
\nJunior varsity action took place the day before for schools in the North Shore-Chicago area.<\/p>\n

COLORADO GIRLS 4A AND 5A HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS
\nColorado’s girls swimming came to a close Feb. 10-11 with its high school 4A and 5A championships. The 4A competition was held in Thornton, while 5A competitors met in Fort Collins. Thompson Valley nabbed the team title in 4A, and Fossil Ridge edged out Cherry Creek in 5A by one point. Regis Jesuit’s Missy Franklin posted a national record 1:43.15 in the 200 free during the 5A portion of the meet.<\/p>\n

MASTERS
\nMASTERS VALENTINE MEET<\/p>\n
A total of 200 participants competed at the annual Clearwater Aquatic Masters Valentine Meet Feb. 11-12 at the Long Center in Florida. The meet was held Saturday morning to allow the Clearwater Last Chance age group trials to take place in the same pool in the afternoon, and Sunday. <\/p>\n
