The boys scored 304 points to win\u00a0while the girls totaled 359.\u00a0Bozeman was second on both sides with 143 points for the boys and 212 for the girls.<\/p>\n<h2>Boys<\/h2>\n<p>The Hellgate team won the 200 medley relay by four seconds, touching in 1:36.21. Hellgate senior <strong>Darragh Mahns<\/strong>\u00a0won a tight 200 freestyle in 1:42.57. His junior teammate\u00a0<strong>Sawyer Keyes\u00a0<\/strong>was third (1:43.88) and Central junior\u00a0<strong>Jack Leuthold\u00a0<\/strong>touched second (1:42.81). Leuthold won the 500 free in a state record time of 4:39.90. Keyes was runner up in 4:41.44.<\/p>\n<p>Hellgate went one-two in the 200 IM with\u00a0<strong>Matthew Fritz\u00a0<\/strong>(1:56.63) and\u00a0<strong>Tanner Baldry\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.80). Fritz (52.65) and teammate\u00a0<strong>Simon McMahon\u00a0<\/strong>(54.39) earned gold an silver in the 100 backstroke.<\/p>\n<p>Flathead&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jamie Bouda\u00a0<\/strong>won the 50 free in a state record time of 20.49. Hellgate&#8217;s Mahns (21.56) and\u00a0<strong>Finnian Westenfelder\u00a0<\/strong>(22.15) were second and third. Bouda also won the 100 breaststroke with his 56.08. Bozeman&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nathan Peters\u00a0<\/strong>was also under a minute (57.97).<\/p>\n<p>Another Hellgate win came in the 100 fly when\u00a0<strong>Lyndon Amon\u00a0<\/strong>won the event in 52.52, just out touching Helena&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Robert Wagner\u00a0<\/strong>in 52.67.\u00a0Westenfelder and Amon took the top two spots in the 100 free in 48.68 and 49.13, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In the 200 freestyle relay Hellgate turned in another state record time, a 1:26.52. They wrapped up the meet in winning fashion with a 3:17.61 400 freestyle relay.<\/p>\n<h2>Girls<\/h2>\n<p>Hellgate won the 200 medley relay in 1:46.35. Hellgate got a win and a state record from senior\u00a0<strong>Mari Aoki\u00a0<\/strong>in the 200 IM, when she touched in 2:05.83. Aoki also won the 100 breaststroke (1:06.56).<\/p>\n<p>Butte Bulldogs sophomore\u00a0<strong>Catherine Russo\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 22.76 to set a state record in the 50 free. She set another state mark in the 100 fly with her time of 54.15.<\/p>\n<p>The records kept rolling into the 100 freestyle where\u00a0<strong>Katharine Berkoff<\/strong>, a junior at Hellgate, touched in 50.01 for first. The Hellgate team (names were not available) took down the state mark in the 200 free relay with a 1:38.54. Berkoff kept rolling, clocking an impressive state record of 52.80 to win the 100 backstroke. Junior teammate\u00a0<strong>Aidan Condit\u00a0<\/strong>was the only other swimmer under a minute, finishing in 58.33.<\/p>\n<p>Glacier junior\u00a0<strong>AJ Popp\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 free with a 1:52.89, winning by five seconds. Hellgate&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jesse Ecklund\u00a0<\/strong>touched second in 1:57.51. Popp was second (52.62) in the 100 free.
