NATALIE Coughlin is a part of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition that hits newsstands today. In an interesting twist, the two-time Olympian is not wearing a swimsuit, at least in the technical sense of the word. Yes, it would appear that Natalie is wearing a swimsuit in this photo, but what you see is body paint. She&#39;s one of three female athletes to be photographed this way for Sports Illustrated, the others being golfer Natalie Gulbis and soccer star Alex Morgan. The paint application took 11 hours to apply, and Coughlin said she was thrilled to be asked to participate.<\/p>\n<p>With all the news happening around the country last weekend, we were bound to miss a couple of things, and we want to let you know about them now. First up, Sarah Haase broke the national independent high school record in the 100 breaststroke at the Metro high school championships with a 1:00.05. Haase&#39;s time beat Spindrift Beck&#39;s former record by six tenths of a second. Haase is a senior at Our Lady of Good Counsel, the same school Jack Conger attends, and she will be attending Stanford next fall.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of the Stanford women, they pulled off a major upset last weekend in the dual meet against UC-Berkeley, beating the reigning national champions by 48 points. The Cardinal won 11 of the 16 events, with Berkeley standout Caitlin Leverenz winning three events. These two teams will do battle next week at the Pac 12 championships in Federal Way, where Stanford is the defending champion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX, Arizona, February 14.
