For more information about Agon, visit their website\u00a0<\/i><i><a href=\"https:\/\/agonswim.com\/\">AgonSwim.com<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/harpeth-hall-girls-baylor-boys-dominate-first-half-of-tennessee-hs-state-meet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first half <\/a>of the 2018 Tennessee High School swimming and diving state championships was highlighted by two National High School records- <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/harpeth-hall-home-of-the-walsh-sisters-demolishes-200-medley-relay-national-independent-school-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the 200 medley relay<\/a>, set by the Harpeth Hall girls, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/baylors-trey-freeman-blasts-133-06-200-free-for-national-hs-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new 200 freestyle mark<\/a> swum by\u00a0<strong>Trey Freeman<\/strong>. Fast swims continued on night two.<\/p>\n<p>Those dominating performances secured team titles. The Harpeth Hall girls scored 353 points. Baylor was second with 275. On the boys side Baylor scored 315 points to McCallie&#8217;s 257.<\/p>\n<h2>Girls<\/h2>\n<p>Harpeth Hall continued their winning ways into day two as\u00a0<strong>Ophelia Pilkinton\u00a0<\/strong>dominated the 100 freestyle in 50.05. Collerville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Erin Milligan\u00a0<\/strong>was second (51.22) and Central Magnet&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kailey Orr\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in 51.31.<\/p>\n<p>Baylor&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Addison Smith\u00a0<\/strong>interrupted Harpeth Hall&#8217;s winning streak with a 4:48.18 500 freestyle.\u00a0<strong>Ella Nelson\u00a0<\/strong>was second for Harpeth Hall in 4:50.16. She edged Station Camp&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Riley Gaines,\u00a0<\/strong>who finished third in 4:50.44.<\/p>\n<p>Harpeth Hall won the 200 freestyle relay, but came up just two tenths shy of the National Independent School record. The team went a 1:31.38, and did it without <strong>Alex Walsh<\/strong>. Pilkinton (23.18),\u00a0<strong>Alex Massey\u00a0<\/strong>(23.28),\u00a0<strong>Julia Eskew\u00a0<\/strong>(23.24), and\u00a0<strong>Gretchen Walsh\u00a0<\/strong>(21.68) was the winning quartet. Baylor&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jamee Mitchum<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jewel Gordon<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Dallas Woods<\/strong>, and\u00a0Smith were second in 1:34.74.<\/p>\n<p>Gretchen Walsh then smashed the 100 backstroke field, posting a 52.85 for the win. Ensworth&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kallie Chelsvig\u00a0<\/strong>(54.58) and Baylor&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ellie Waldrep\u00a0<\/strong>(55.43) earned silver and bronze.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qy Celichowski\u00a0<\/strong>of Gps Bruisers won one meter diving with a score of 404.05 points.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Walsh raced to a 58.88 100 yard breaststroke tonight to set\u00a0another National Independent School record. Walsh&#8217;s swim destroyed the previous mark, a 1:00.05, set by eventual Stanford swimmer\u00a0<strong>Sarah Haase\u00a0<\/strong>in 2012. Walsh was also nearly as quick as\u00a0<strong>Emily Weiss<\/strong>, who broke the National Public School record earlier this afternoon, with a 58.40 at the Indiana High School State meet.\u00a0Walsh won the race by two and a half seconds.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/stanford-secures-breaststroker-allie-raabs-verbal-commitment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stanford commit<\/a>\u00a0and Brentwood Academy senior\u00a0<strong>Allie Raab\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 1:01.22.<\/p>\n<p>In the final event of the weekend, Harpeth Hall put together one more dominating performance. Pilkinton (51.17),\u00a0<strong>Ella Nelson\u00a0<\/strong>(50.92), Eskew (51.60), and Alex Walsh (48.78) won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:22.47. Baylor took second in 3:28.37.<\/p>\n<h2>Boys<\/h2>\n<p>Baylor&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jack Kirby\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 44.45 to win the 100 freestyle. Nearly a second back was Brentwood&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matthew Lattin\u00a0<\/strong>in 45.30. West&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Coleman Kredich\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top three with a 45.34.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trey Freeman\u00a0<\/strong>won the 500 free by a significant margin. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/high-school-junior-trey-freeman-commits-to-florida-gators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Florida commit<\/a>\u00a0touched in 4:15.53. That effort came up a few seconds shy of the National Independent School record of 4:12.87, set by\u00a0<strong>Grant Shoults\u00a0<\/strong>in 2016. Bearden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Caleb Harrington\u00a0<\/strong>(20.33),\u00a0<strong>Noah Smith\u00a0<\/strong>(22.21),\u00a0<strong>Brooks Maupin\u00a0<\/strong>(22.55), and\u00a0<strong>Luke Brice\u00a0<\/strong>(21.00) out touched McCallie&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Benjamin Griffith\u00a0<\/strong>(22.17),\u00a0<strong>Ethan Bevill\u00a0<\/strong>(20.92),\u00a0<strong>Alex Mignott\u00a0<\/strong>(21.71), and\u00a0<strong>Will Jackson\u00a0<\/strong>(21.31) 1:26.09 to 1:26.11 to win the event.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 100 breaststroke was a tight finish.\u00a0<strong>Jarel Dillard\u00a0<\/strong>of Aaron Academy touched in 55.02 to win the event. Second place went to\u00a0<strong>Luke Massey\u00a0<\/strong>of Chattanooga Homeschool with a 55.32. Finishing third was Baylor&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Luis Sebastian Weekes\u00a0<\/strong>in 56.15.<\/p>\n<p>Baylor won the final event, 400 freestyle relay in impressive fashion. Freeman (43.87),\u00a0<strong>Piotr Kurleto\u00a0<\/strong>(45.47),\u00a0<strong>Zach Althoff\u00a0<\/strong>(45.40), and\u00a0<strong>Jack Kirby\u00a0<\/strong>(44.78) cleared the three minute marker with a 2:59.52.
