For more information about Agon, visit their website\u00a0<\/i><i><a href=\"https:\/\/agonswim.com\/\">AgonSwim.com<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The 2018 Tennessee High School swimming state championships kicked off today, with prelims and finals of the first half of the high school event lineup.<\/p>\n<p>Baylor&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Trey Freeman\u00a0<\/strong>started the meet by setting a new National High School record in the 200 freestyle. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/high-school-junior-trey-freeman-commits-to-florida-gators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Florida commit<\/a>\u00a0destroyed the field with a 1:33.06.<\/p>\n<p>That time cleared both the Independent School mark of 1:33.26 set by <strong>Grant Shoults\u00a0<\/strong>in 2016,\u00a0as well as the public school record of 1:33.30 set by Carmel&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Drew Kibler\u00a0<\/strong>last year.<\/p>\n<p>Baylor is an independent school, though, meaning only Shoults&#8217; record is erased from the books.<\/p>\n<p>Freeman&#8217;s swim was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/harpeth-hall-home-of-the-walsh-sisters-demolishes-200-medley-relay-national-independent-school-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">second National Record<\/a> of the session, after the girls from Harpeth Hall took down the 200 medley relay mark.<\/p>\n<h2>Splits:<\/h2>\n<pre><b>Event 4  Men 200 Yard Freestyle<\/b>\r\n==================================================================\r\n         2:00.29  TNQT State Qualifying\r\n    Name           Year School            Prelims     Finals              \r\n==================================================================\r\n<b>                        === A - Final ===                         <\/b>\r\n \r\n  1 Freeman, Trey       Baylor Varsity    1:41.99    1:33.06 TNQT   \r\n                 21.58        45.22 (23.64)\r\n        1:09.17 (23.95)     1:33.06 (23.89)<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Agon is the proud sponsor of all high school coverage (recruiting, results, state championships, etc.) on SwimmingWorld.com.
