The team is not as dominant as in some years past, but did secure four top seeds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kelly Pash\u00a0<\/strong>went a 1:45.65 to earn the 200 freestyle top spot for Carmel.\u00a0<strong>Kay Foley\u00a0<\/strong>(1:47.68) of Munster, and Northridge freshman\u00a0<strong>Elsa Fretz\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.09) follow. Pash is well ahead in the 100 free after a 48.87 tonight. Fretz (50.10) took second in prelims. Foely posted a 4:48.02 in the 500 freestyle tonight.<\/p>\n<p>The team from Franklin snagged the top spot in the 200 medley relay.\u00a0<strong>Jessie Fraley<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Kabria Chapman<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ali Terrell<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Gracey Payne\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 1:43.69. Teams are lined up right behind them, though as Hamilton Southeastern&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Abby Harter<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Madison Kertin<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Hannah Pugh<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Emily Barnes\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 1:43.88.<\/p>\n<p>York&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emily Weiss\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 2:00.34 in the 200 IM tonight. Carmel senior\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/vols-get-two-more-verbal-commitments-from-trude-rothrock-danika-katzer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trude Rothrock<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.52) and Bloomington South&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mackenzie Looze\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.59) are tomorrow&#8217;s second and third seeds. Rothrock is the top seed in the 100 butterfly in 53.62. She&#8217;ll have Franklin junior\u00a0<strong>Carla Gildersleeve\u00a0<\/strong>(53.86) chasing her. Weiss&#8217; second top seed came in the 100 breaststroke with her 59.25. That time lowered her own state record, a 59.37 swum last year.<\/p>\n<p>Looze&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Julia Wolf\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 23.01 for the middle lane of tomorrow&#8217;s 50 freestyle final.<\/p>\n<p>The top seed in the 200 freestyle relay belongs to Northridge&#8217;s Fretz,\u00a0<strong>Kenzie Weber,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Jenna Nethercutt<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Lauren Miller\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:33.86. Carmel is second in 1:34.68.<\/p>\n<p>Purdue commit and Zionsville senior\u00a0<strong>Tessa Wrightson\u00a0<\/strong>swam to a 54.00 for the middle lane of the 100 backstroke. She has\u00a0<strong>Jaclyn Zlimczak\u00a0<\/strong>(54.44) and\u00a0<strong>Abby Harter\u00a0<\/strong>(54.83) just behind.<\/p>\n<p>Carmel&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kendra Bowen<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ashlyn Underhill<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Hannah White<\/strong>, and Pash turned in a 3:25.04 for the top spot in the 400 freestyle relay.
