The Georgia swimming and diving teams completed the dual meet portion of their schedule on Saturday by sweeping Emory at Gabrielsen Natatorium.<\/p>\n
The No. 6 Lady Bulldogs posted a 173-94 decision to improve to 9-0, marking their 15th undefeated regular season under Jack Bauerle<\/strong>. Georgia’s seniors ended their careers 37-1-1. The No. 9 Bulldogs moved to 7-1-1 with a 164-121 victory. The Bulldog seniors wound up 30-5-1 in their tenure.<\/p>\n Anna McKenzie, Kylie Stewart<\/strong> and McKensi Austin<\/strong> were double winners for the Bulldogs. McKenzie swept the breaststroke events in 1:02.83 and 2:14.45. Stewart took the 50 freestyle in 23.20 and the 200 individual medley in 2:01.24. Austin claimed both springboards, winning the 1-meter with 296.93 points and the 3-meter with 356.18 points.<\/p>\n The Bulldogs swept the remaining freestyle events with Meaghan Raab<\/strong> in the 100 (50.51), Sandra Scott<\/strong> in the 200 (1:47.68), Meg Finnon<\/strong> in the 500 (4:48.36)and Courtney Harnish<\/strong> in the 1,650 (16:18.54).<\/p>\n The backstroke races went to Maddie Wallis<\/strong> (54.27 in the 100) and Chelsea Britt<\/strong> (1:57.66 in the 200). Veronica Burchill<\/strong> claimed the 100 butterfly in 54.29 and Megan Kingsley<\/strong> won the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:55.83. Jordyn Gulle<\/strong> reached the wall in 4:25.25 to take the top spot in the 400 individual medley.<\/p>\n Sammie Burchill, Danielle Della Torre<\/strong>, Kingsley, and Wallis won the 200 medley relay in 1:43.38. The 400 freestyle crown went to Wallis, Scott, Della Torre, and Jordan Stout with a time of 3:24.64.<\/p>\n Aidan Burns<\/strong> won three events to pace the men. He claimed the 200 freestyle in 1:36.73, the 200 backstroke in 1:51.77, and the 400 individual medley in 3:56.11. Gunnar Bentz, Youssef Said<\/strong> and Ian Forlini<\/strong> picked up wins apiece for the Bulldogs. Bentz took the 200 butterfly in 1:42.51 and the 200 individual medley in 1:44.91. Said won the 100 freestyle in 45.36 and the 100 backstroke in 47.63. Forlini went 354.53 on 1-meter and 373.50 on 3-meter to sweep the boards.<\/p>\n Kevin Miller<\/strong> claimed the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:22.54 and\u00a0 Walker Higgins touched in 9:11.74 to win the 1,000 freestyle. The Bulldogs swept the breaststroke, with Jackson Ford<\/strong> going 55.07 in the 100 and James Guest<\/strong> posting a 1:53.46 in the 200. Powell Brooks<\/strong> won the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.86.<\/p>\n South Carolina swimming totaled 11 entries in A-finals and amassed two individual victories from them in the second day of competition at the Virginia Tech “Technotational” on Saturday. The Gamecock women added a win in the 800 free relay and two B-final victories to their collection as well.<\/p>\n Megu Seidenberger<\/strong> touched first in the A-final of the 100 breaststroke with a career-best time of 1:05.33. Freshman Caroline Spence<\/strong> posted a pair of fifth-place A-final showings in the 100 butterfly (56.92) and the 100 breaststroke (1:06.15). The Gamecocks went on to go 1-2 in the B-final of the 100 breaststroke with Elizabeth Mandrgoc<\/strong> (1:07.84) and Allison Wade<\/strong> (1:08.13).<\/p>\n The Alabama swimming and diving team nabbed 12 top-five finishes on day two of the Auburn Invitational.<\/p>\n Junior Emma Murray<\/strong> led the Tide with a win in the women\u2019s 100 breaststroke, stopping the clock with a career-best 1:01.29.<\/p>\n Senior Braxton Young<\/strong> clocked a career-best 54.56 in the 100 breaststroke, taking second.
