The National Junior Teamer is an incredibly versatile swimmer, and best at short distances, making her a potentially key relay piece and even more valuable force in the NCAA. Ivey is a junior at Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida and swims for Gator Swim Club.<\/p>\n<p>Her top SCY times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>100 Back 52.27<\/li>\n<li>50 Free 22.43<\/li>\n<li>100 Free 47.88<\/li>\n<li>200 Free 1:43.64<\/li>\n<li>200 IM 1:55.77<\/li>\n<li>100 Fly 52.61<\/li>\n<li>100 Breast 1:00.99<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In long course Ivey&#8217;s top times are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>200 Free 1:58.94<\/li>\n<li>100 Free 54.95<\/li>\n<li>50 Free 25.21<\/li>\n<li>100 Back 1:01.36<\/li>\n<li>100 Fly 59.96<\/li>\n<li>200 IM 2:15.93<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ivey was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/isabel-ivey-talia-bates-clock-meet-records-as-buchholz-girls-dominate-florida-4a-meet\/\" target=\"_blank\">Florida 4A high school<\/a> state champion in the 200 free and 100 breaststroke this fall, setting the state record and her lifetime best in the later. She was also key to the team&#8217;s winning 200 and 400 freestyle relays as the team won the state title.<\/p>\n<p>At the 2017 NCAA Division 1 Championship Ivey would have been a 200 freestyle A finalist and a 100 freestyle B finalist with her lifetime bests. She also would have landed in the 200 IM B final. The Golden Bears&#8217; 800 freestyle relay finished second last year with splits ranging from 1:42.66 to 1:43.97. That entire relay has already\/will have graduated by Ivey&#8217;s arrival, likely landing her a spot. The team&#8217;s 400 freestyle relay was third, and Ivey&#8217;s best flat start is already just a tenth shy of the team&#8217;s slowest split.<\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I\u2019m very excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academics and swimming at the University of California Berkeley class of 2023!
