TOWSON, Maryland, January 14. THE Tigers honored their nine seniors in style Saturday afternoon, defeating the George Mason Patriots in a Colonial Athletic Association meet by a score of 212.50-87.50.
\nTowson (6-1, 4-0 CAA) celebrated Senior Day prior to the meet and came away with the victory over George Mason after losing their first meet of the season last week to Maryland.<\/p>\n
"For anyone who can actually swim in Division-I for four years, it's a tremendous accomplishment," Towson Coach Pat Mead said. "Today is a celebration of their efforts and successes."<\/p>\n
Senior Cari Czarnecki had a strong showing for the Tigers, winning three individual events. She set a Burdick Pool record in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 2:01.64, breaking the record held by Duncan Gordon by over four seconds.Czarnecki also won the 100-yard butterfly in 57.50 seconds and the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:30.76.<\/p>\n
The Tigers took the top three spots in both the 100-yard butterfly and 400-yard individual medley. Behind Czarnecki in the 100-yard butterfly were freshman Victoria Oslund and Kendall Towe, while Maegan McLaughlin and Caroline Woody finished in second and third, respectively in the 400-yard individual medley.<\/p>\n
Sophomore Kaitlin Burke won two events for Towson in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle, while also placing second in the 1,000-yard freestyle event.<\/p>\n
Caroline Baker also won both the one and three-meter dives for the Tigers. The Tigers took the top four scores in each diving event.<\/p>\n
The Tigers received a win in the 100-yard breaststroke from freshman John Gartland, but the George Mason Patriots came away with a 205-93 victory over Towson in a Colonial Athletic Association meet at Burdick Pool Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Towson (2-5, 1-3 CAA) celebrated Senior Day prior to the meet, honoring the team's four seniors, a group which includes Cory Ornstein, Jim Buck, Wes Foltz and Zac Jelinek.<\/p>\n

Gartland won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.43 and placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:15.64.<\/p>\n
Classmate Andy Disco placed second in a pair of events for Towson. The freshman finished second in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events.<\/p>\n
In both of those events, the Tigers had three of the top five finishers. Joe Mills finished in fourth and Erik Ripley fifth in the 100-yard backstroke, while Mills tied Disco for second place in the 200-yard backstroke and Ripley finishedfifth.<\/p>\n
Matt Lowe recorded a lifetime best swim in the 500-yard freestyle for the Tigers, finishing with a time of 4:44.93, which was good for second place in the event.<\/p>\n
Diver Alex Cohen posted top-three finishes in both the one and three-meter events for Towson.<\/p>\n
