TEMPE, Oct. 16. TEN Masters world records were set at the Arizona State Short Course Meters Championships in Tempe, Arizona, October 13-14.<\/p>\n
The indomitable Ron Johnson, Sun Devils Masters, led the way with four world records and an additional USMS mark in the men's 70-74 age group.<\/p>\n
Johnson set global marks in the 50m free (28.68), 100m breast (1:25.87), 50m fly (33.13) and 100m fly (1:19.51). In the 100 fly, Johnson's time sliced over seven seconds from the old standard.<\/p>\n
In addition, Johnson set a USMS mark of 39.30 in the 50m breast.<\/p>\n
Jane Hill, Phoenix Swim Club, set two stunning world marks in the women's 50-54 division. Hill, who won Olympic bronze in the 100m backstroke in 1968 as Jane Swaggerty, clocked 33.61 for the 50m back and 1:14.62 for the 100 back.<\/p>\n
In a heat that included 1996 Olympic champion Attila Czene of hungary and 1995 world champion Fransisco Sanchez of Venezuela, Mexico's Guillermo Diaz de Leon, swimming for Sun Devils, clocked 25.14 for the 50m fly. The old 25-29 record was 25.20.<\/p>\n
Czene, 27, showed he still has a few good races left, turning in an awesome 56.76 for the 100m IM for men 25-29.<\/p>\n
In the women's 25-29 age group, Sweden's Camilla Johansson, Sun Devils, clocked a WR 1:04.07 for the 100m backstroke.<\/p>\n

\nJack Salvatore(51), Bob Liotta(50), Gregory Gush(53), Matt Yingling(52)<\/p>\n
Sun Devils Masters won the women's team title for the third straight time, while Phoenix Swim Club masters won the men's crown for the third time in a row. Sun Devils won the combined team championship, ending Phoenix's streak of two straight.<\/p>\n
