FORT Lauderdale Aquatics is experiencing a major shakeup this week. It started on Tuesday, when the Fort Lauderdale city council terminated the team&#39;s contract to use the Hall of Fame pool, leaving the team with an uncertain future. The city still wants to have an age group program at the city-owned Hall of Fame complex, and right now, the coaches are being paid an hourly rate by the city to keep the program running uninterrupted. Swimming World has learned that the city and the team staff are still open to negotiations on a new contract. The Hall of Fame pool has been undergoing a lot of changes in the past year, including removing most of the spectator seating. <\/p>\n<p>With holiday training done for pretty much all college teams, the second half of the dual meet season is back into full gear this weekend. Arizona qualified nearly 20 swimmers for the women&#39;s and men&#39;s NCAAs about a month ago, and this weekend the Wildcats will play host this afternoon to three teams that visited Tucson for winter training: Northern Arizona University, Iowa, Oregon State and New Mexico State. The Stanford men&#39;s and women&#39;s teams will race against Pacific on Saturday and Big 12 rivals Michigan and Indiana will meet in Ann Arbor tomorrow. <\/p>\n<p>USA Diving has announced the roster for next month&#39;s World Cup meet in London. Kristian Ipsen and David Boudia will be the busiest divers on the team, with each set to compete in two events. Ipsen will dive in the individual 3-meter springboard competition, then team up with Troy Dumais for the synchro 3-meter event. Boudia will do the same thing, only on the platform, diving with Nick McCrory in the synchro event. In many of the events, the United States is looking to secure a roster spot on the Olympic roster, then pick who will take that spot at the Olympic Trials this summer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX, Arizona, January 6.
