The Arizona women’s swimming and diving opened 2018 with a quad meet sweep, defeating Rice, New Mexico State and NAU on Friday afternoon at Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n
The Wildcats beat Rice 151-121, Northern Arizona 154.5-137.5 and New Mexico State 168-122.<\/p>\n
The Wildcats won 12 of the 14 swimming events, including exhibitions.<\/p>\n
Hannah Cox<\/strong> (1,000 free, 200 free), Mallory Korenwinder<\/strong> (100 breast, 200 breast) and Mackenzie Rumrill<\/strong> (200 fly, 100 fly) won two events each while Daniela Georges<\/strong> (100 back), Morgan Ginnis<\/strong> (50 free), Cameron McHugh<\/strong> (200 back) and Kirsten Jacobsen<\/strong> (500 free) won one event apiece.<\/p>\n Georges, Korenwinder, Rumrill and Ginnis won the 200 medley relay to get the quad-meet going with a time of 1:41.98<\/p>\n Cox won the 1,000 free with a time of 10:02.01.<\/p>\n Cox, just minutes after winning the 1,000, took heat 1 of the 200 free in a time of 1:49.35. McHugh finished second with a time of 1:50.26. In the second heat, Jamie Stone touched first 1:52.02 and Jacobsen second with a time of 1:52.83.<\/p>\n Georges won the the 100 backstroke with a time of 55:04.
