ACC competition will resume in 2018 with a light schedule of meets before almost every team has a competition scheduled for the upcoming MLK weekend. The schedule highlights include Florida State matching up with Florida in Gainesville and the Virginia Cavaliers traveling to Knoxville, Tenn., to face the University of Tennessee Volunteers.<\/p>\n

The Tennessee dual meet will be Virginia’s last trip away from Charlottesville before next month’s ACC championships, and Tennessee should present a strong challenge, coming off impressive performances in the invitational they hosted last month. The Volunteer women, led by sophomore\u00a0Erika Brown<\/strong><\/a>, ranked seventh in the latest CSCAA poll<\/a>, and head coach\u00a0Matt Kredich’s\u00a0<\/strong>men’s team ranks 12th.<\/p>\n

Virginia’s women and men ranked 11th and 21st, respectively, in the latest poll. Senior butterflyer\u00a0Jen Marrkand<\/strong> and freshman backstroker\u00a0Emma Seiberlich<\/strong> have been two of the team’s top performers so far this season, including in a tri-meet win over Louisville and Princeton in November and at the Georgia Invite in December, while\u00a0Zach Fong\u00a0<\/strong>has been among the top performers on the men’s side.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Florida State’s men rank 19th in the country with an impressive sprint corps, but dealing with\u00a0Caeleb Dressel\u00a0<\/strong>and co. will prove daunting. The Seminole women received votes in the previous CSCAA poll.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Virginia Tech will face Buffalo while on training trip in Florida, Pitt hosts West Virginia and Georgia Tech takes on the Savannah College of Art and Design.<\/p>\n
